I think some of these people should have reconsidered before they put themselves out there for this season. Here’s the cast for Season 11:
Here’s a look at the full cast:
• Michael Bolton
• R&B singer Brandy
• Comedian Margaret Cho
• Former NBA basketball player Rick Fox
• “Dirty Dancing” actress Jennifer Grey
• David Hasselhoff
• Florence Henderson
• Actor Kyle Massey
• Bristol Palin
• “Hills” star Audrina Patridge
• Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from “The Jersey Shore”
• Retired Arizona Cardinals quarterback, Kurt WarnerAlready I’m calling "foul" because Jennifer Grey has an extensive background in dance, and I don’t think it will be fair to the others right off the bat to have her compete. Bristol Palin — really? Not too impressed with any of the guys this season either.

September 1, 2010 at 1:15 am #1589053tdogsParticipantThey’ve had astronauts, football players, etc., on so why not? I haven’t seen Jennifer Gray in anything in quiet awhile or else I don’t recognize her anymore since her surgery. I think she should have stayed the way God made her as she wasn’t as "generic" looking as all Hollywood is sometimes.
September 1, 2010 at 2:20 am #15891kprstrsParticipantAs ‘Dirty Dancing’ is my fav movie of all, I cannot wait to see her! The main reason it is my fav, though, is Swayze!!
September 1, 2010 at 12:16 pm #15896BonbonParticipantShe really, really got her money’s worth.
All-in-all, I’m happy with the choices. And I don’t think Gray has an advantage because of her dance training. Remember that ballroom dancing is very different than what she did. And there have been others with dance training also. Didn’t Brooke? And I know Nicole did.
The only thing I’m disappointed in is why they keep including these older people. I don’t understand why. They obviously will never win. Yeah, it’s probably ratings (although I don’t think Florence Henderson has that large a fan base) but when they get up into the 70s, that’s too old and I begin to want them off.
I’m glad to see Bristol Palin get out and under the shadow of her mother’s cele brity. I think this’ll be a wonderful opportunity for a young lady that is paying way too long for a youthful indescretion that has been made by so many, many other young girls. Isn’t it time to put it in the past?
I find that no matter who they choose, it always ends up being an interesting and entertaining show. Once the personalities start to come out, I enjoy itmore andmore. I think because there are so many aspects to it. I LOVE this show and can’t wait for it to begin.
September 1, 2010 at 2:28 pm #15899luckeyParticipantan interview that she hasn’t danced since "Dirty Dancing" and then it was a completely different type of dancing. She’s 50 years old now and the movie was quite awhile ago, so I don’t think there’s any advantage there either. Bristol needs to not only get out from under her Mom’s shadow, but to let the public see a completely different side of her than being Sarah’s daughter. This has to take a lot of courage on her part to put herself out there like that. Levi was a little snarky in an interview I saw recently when there were rumors of Bristol being on the show. I wanted to slap him and remind him of what he’s done recently, which is so far beyond idiocy than what Bristol is doing. I’m a Curt Warner fan and I hope he does well. I think DWTS tries to appeal to all age groups, thus the older generation being included. I’m just glad they are staying away from the comedic influence that Cloris Leachman brought. That was way over the top and was allowed to continue way too long…in my opinion.
September 1, 2010 at 4:27 pm #15901PattiParticipantI didn’t mean it in a negative sense. I’m glad, too, that she is cutting the apron strings and doing something for herself without being in the shadow of her mom’s spotlight. As for Jennifer Gray, I do think she has an edge over contestants who have no dance background at all; but, again, that’s just MHO.
September 1, 2010 at 6:33 pm #1590253tdogsParticipantAnd he was a great guy with his marriage of 20 something years too…May he rest in peace.
September 1, 2010 at 6:40 pm #1590353tdogsParticipantglad it’s the new fall season soon…we don’t have reruns like we had to endure all summer long "in the ‘old’ days" with all the summer replacement shows, but I miss my favorites like Greys’, DWTS, Private Practice, Desperate Housefraus , etc. Can you all imagine if we had reruns of DOOL during the summer???? Especially, this summer???
September 1, 2010 at 8:09 pm #15905shadowParticipantknow from the get go, that will not win. I admire them and think it’s great that they are still going strong. I’m glad that they are included, because the older generation certainly can teach these younger ones a lot. I don’t see anything wrong with them being part of the show. That’s what keeps them "young" – staying active. I say bravo to them!!! By the way I am one of them(68 yrs.)
September 2, 2010 at 8:43 am #15927kprstrsParticipantAmen to that! I rarely give a care about ANY of the Hollywood folks, but he truly touched me. And I know I am not the only one!
September 2, 2010 at 11:51 am #15931BonbonParticipantexcept sit in front of the boob tube, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Burn Notice marathon. But the new season is beginning gradually, thank God (that’s the TV God).
September 4, 2010 at 12:19 pm #16005caseyParticipantI see her as the first to go. I just cannot imagine her being coordinated enough for dancing. But she just may prove me wrong!
As for Jennifer, it will be great to see her, but I still think she has an edge because that early dance training never goes away. I believe Audrina will do well.September 4, 2010 at 3:22 pm #16022SWParticipantI read an article about her and she’s got some medical issues from a previous accident that won’t be helping her. Plus, at her age (no insulting here – just fact), you just aren’t as limber as someone in their 20s or even 30s. Unless you do it all the time, you lose that ‘elasticity’ and Florence H, also used to be a dancer if I remember and did a lot of Broadway musical type things. So, that said, she should also have an "advantage" but she’s also "old" for doing the type of dancing that wins on this show.
September 4, 2010 at 3:42 pm #16024BonbonParticipantI can’t remember who said it but they said the athletes are the ones who have an edge over everyone else. It’s because they have the athleticism and the dicipline to exceed. That makes a lot of sense to me.
I say, the ones who have the advantage are the ones who have the biggest fan base. Remember the judges’ dancing scores are only half the story.
