Don’t you all think it’s odd that with the big reveal about EJ hiring Anna to take Sydney that nobody seems at all concerned about where she is or what happened to her? I forget… was Rafe the last one to see her?
September 19, 2010 at 3:44 pm #16395PattiParticipantin fact, it’s one of the thing I most hate about writers. They seem to not care about "loose ends" that have meaningful beginnings and middles. They shove someone upstairs, out to mail a letter, off on a trip, taken from a hospital room, all never to be seen or heard from again, and no explanation as to why or what happened to them. It’s not only poor writing, but it’s a direct insult to the intelligence of us, the fans, who are so enthralled with loving our favorite characters and what goes on with their family lives, that in most instances we are willing to overlook them trying to trick our minds or forgetting that one day Don Craig walked to the mailbox and just never came back, and to this day it was never explained. I don’t want to even go into all the others. A dropped story-line is one thing; but the dropping of a whole character with no explanation is just what most soap writers seem to have …… NO TALENT!

September 19, 2010 at 8:14 pm #16402DeeLanParticipantEverytime I hear about Don Craig going to the mailbox and never returning it reminds me of a story I’d heard about an uncle of mine. He was married with a couple of kids and went out to get a pack of cigarettes and never came home. The family was besides themselves trying to find him. I had an uncle who traveled a lot and every city he’d go into he’d search the phone books. This all happened way before I was born and when i was about 5 we drove to California and saw my uncle. He’d been found living in another state with a wife and 2 kids. Never divorced his first wife and never looked back.
I guess the writers are thinking we’ll accept anything with the explanation that it happened off camera and everything’s fine. At least have someone mention that they’d heard from the person or they were sorry to see them leave Salem, anything to give us fans some sort of closure with that character if even for a little while.
September 19, 2010 at 8:22 pm #16404GoodyParticipantwas with Anna last on screen, but I seem to remember Stefano telling EJ to not worry about her because she was taken care of. Those were not his exact words, but his suggestion was pretty clear. Of course you can’t always believe what you think you see and hear. The storyline can be very deceptive with clues, and my memory is just awful!!!

September 19, 2010 at 9:20 pm #1640553tdogsParticipanthave elephant memories when it comes to our show and beloved characters. I echo everyones sentiment about the writers just sticking someone upstairs or sending them to Switzerland or London or just left out in limbo somewhere. At least give us (fans), all a little credit and let us "hear" from folks on the show that we have years, tears and love invested in!
September 19, 2010 at 11:07 pm #16408SWParticipantthug came along so I’m guessing that was Stefano’s henchman. I think Rafe was in prison with Shane at that point being accused of hurting Anna.
September 20, 2010 at 3:34 am #16409DeeLanParticipantShane and Rafe had escaped and were on their way to the hospital because when she opened the door and said "you" or something to that effect I thought she was talking to Rafe. I don’t remember seeing who it was at the door though but Rafe told Shane that she was gone when he got there.
