As Patti mentioned elsewhere, EJ played "smug" to the nth yesterday. Good job, James! OMG, he was just so in-you-face unconcerned with what Sami was saying. Even though he knew everything she was saying already, I’m sure inside it was just tearing his heart out. Yes, Patti, he really DOES have one.
About Rafe quitting his job? Don’t people usually get another one before leaving the one they have. I believe that’s practicing the First Wingwalker’s Rule: "Never let go of what you’ve got until you’ve got ahold of something else." It should still be fresh in his mind how hard it was for him to even get that construction job the last time he walked out. And I would think this would permenantly seal up his chances of ever going back to the FBI again.
Is the guard outside EJ’s door for protection because someone tried to shoot him or because he is under arrest for the kidnapping? I’ve got a sneaky feeling that the kidnapping is, like so many other Salem crimes, going to be swept under the rug.
What was the purpose of the girl in prison getting appendicitis and dying? (Boy, you’d think appendicitis was as painful as childbirth watching her. I had it when I was 10 yo and didn’t put up that much fuss.) I wonder if they are just writing filler for Hope in prison or if it’s going to foreshadow something to come.
October 13, 2010 at 1:49 pm #16941MKParticipantRegarding the Hope story line, I have a feeling that the woman dying is foreshadowing something to come. I think something shady is going on in the prison and the woman dying is part of that something bad (selling organs on the black market? I can’t believe I even wrote that–from watching too many detective shows I guess). I think that Hope will be involved in a storyline there (what else are they going to do with her) and she’ll use her detective skills and figure out whatever bad stuff that’s happening. Then she will be rewarded and get out of prison.
October 13, 2010 at 1:50 pm #16942dvalParticipantThe only thing I can figure is that her appendix had burst and the infection was spreading through her system. Peritonitis, is it?
As for the rest…I really wish they would let EJ move on to someone else. They are trying to make EJ into Stefano and Sami into Marlena but without the finesse of the Stef/Marlena storylines. I find no suspense in this storyline whatsoever and it really isn’t holding my interest anymore. Same old Same old. EJ wants Sami, Sami says no, Sami does a 180 and says yes, EJ is happy, Sami goes 180 again and says no and/or does something stupid to get EJ angryand he blackmails her into doing something she doesn’t want to do…blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Just my opinion of course.
October 13, 2010 at 1:52 pm #16943dvalParticipantOoooh, good thought. Not too farfetched for Salem either, LOL.
October 13, 2010 at 3:07 pm #16946PattiParticipantthe ‘tinsman’ forgot to give him one. As for Rafe resigning, I agree, it does make sense that his reasoning would be a ‘conflict of interest.’ If he were still FBI, he would HAVE to arrest Sami if he were committed to upholding the law, or else once the truth came out, he would be fired for withholding information, even if that information was only suspicion. Of course, he could lie, like everyone else in Salem seems to have no problem with, but Rafe’s doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy that would do that. He’s too committed to his worth ethics. However, if they were married, he could not be forced to testify against Sami, so he’ll probably stick with her alibi. As for E.J., the writers have turned him into something comparable to that yellow jello he was eating yesterday up to this point. We’ll see just how big his heart is when he starts plotting his revenge. As for spending time with his children, that will be a matter for the court to decide, depending, of course, on who the judge is and how deep in the DiMeras’ pockets he/she is.

October 14, 2010 at 10:36 pm #16989cjwestParticipantYou don’t just walk off a Federal job. You actually have to submit paperwork to personnel, get debriefed etc.
another soap fantasy.
October 14, 2010 at 11:56 pm #1699153tdogsParticipantthe state may be broke and without money to run it’s fiduciary responsibilities , but by jove, IT WILL generate the redundancy of it’s zillions of pieces of paperwork for each and every line item detail come hell or high water! (Which is why it is broke in the first place…)
