I cant stand him with Sydney! oh it pisses me off! I cant forgive him for tossing Sydney out with Nicole just becuase she wasnt his blood daughter! he loved that little girl from the moment she was born. it shouldnt have mattered she wasnt blood, when he threw her out it was unforgivable. She was an innocent little baby who loved her daddy.I think about that EVERY time I see him gushing all over Sydney. He doesnt deserve her in the least!
He used to be an edgy kind of nasty where he was still sophisticated and let others do his dirty work for him behind the scenes. But now they’re writing him where he’s an absolute ass most of the time and just out-and-out unlikeable. It’s kind of hard to but in words but I guess I’d describe it as changing him from a white collar bad guy to a blue collar bad guy. Does that make any sense?
I wish they wouldn’t do this because I’m afraid it’s going to turn James’ fans against him, as well as EJ. So, IMHO, they’re not only ruining the character, they’re ruining the actor as well. Anybody else feel this too?
It is great to see an actor stretch his or her role and not be a one trick pony as Sami has been for 15 years and Stephanie for the last four. I’m a 100% EJ fan (don’t like what he does) but I love him so I think he’s just made himself a bit more interesting – I think they have ruined Sami for me as she is the same character and hasn’t changed. Heck, even our Miss Nicole has changed her spots once or twice of late.
I’m totally sick of his sarcasm, the way he throws the DiMera name, money and power around each and every time he doesn’t have the patience to dispute a remark made by anyone, like the new doc (Ben?) yesterday and today. He disgusts me to no end, and the only difference I see between your opinion and mine is that I’ve ALWAYS felt he was a disgusting character. A daddy’s boy who will, I’m sure, reap what he sows. I can’t help but compare him to a good wine that’s been left open way too long and now he’s turned rancid.
yesterday the CC kept showing him as "Jason." I couldn’t figure that out so looked in imdb.com and it says "Ben" there. Hmmm…
when Carly told him the famous, "Thanks, but no thanks – I got me a man" line. So I think you may be onto something there BonBon!
can’t wait till that one hits the air waves. The fact that Stefano told Chad he was beginning to remind him of E.J. started that one rolling, but E.J. was his pathetic obnoxious self to the young man. Guess Kate will have some splainin’ to do when she gets home. Also, on another note, I hate the way James is acting right now as well. He’s overly flamboyant, from his wide-eyed, contemptible, condescending mannerism, to his flagrant flamboyancy in throwing his arms all over the place when he spews his venom … it’s just not the same quality actor and it makes him appear more like a flailing idiot then ever to me. I’m just sayin’, he’s jutting out all over the place when he speaks and he appears more comical than convincing to me.
Those are exactly my thoughts that I was unable to express as well as you did. His treatment of Chad yesterday was the perfect example. The "earlier" EJ would never stoop to such behavior, he was too suave and sophisticated for that. That’s why I said before I think the writers are ruining the character even for people who have, in the past, loved him in spite of his flaws. He has just become too unlikeable.
Yes he is but as evil as Stefano has been over the years, I have never disliked him. Maybe he just has more class than EJ.
