Boooo!  Remember when there used to be costume parties and decorations for Halloween?  Other than the ghoulish sarcophagus storyline there is nothing to indicate that it’s Halloween!

Christmas – so fast.  Last Christmas was sad because we all knew about Mrs. H but this Christmas should be celebrated in the Horton clan – there has got to be some "happy Days" on Days once in awhile instead of all the downer story lines!

I agree.  I wonder if they’ll hang ornaments at Maggie’s this year.

and other “events” like masquerade balls and July 4th in the park. Even lighter moments like Chloe singing (remember those duets w/Brady?) and Hope skating and couples actually going on fun dates.
Note the lack of music lately too and when couples had a theme song. But of course w/musical couples these days, no one is togther long enough for that!
I’m sure the budget crunch has much to do with absence of extravaganzas but a few creative minds can surely come up with some fun and entertainment – and sorely lacking romance!

I loved Bonnie’s Christmas Tree forest. That cute bulldog provided a few funny scenes, too. I doubt that a set like that would cost a bundle.

there is no excuse for us not to have seen all of those cute kids dressed for Halloween. Sydney, Allie, Johnny, Ciara, Theo, even the teens should have all been dressed for the holiday. There should have been a little fun.

is all the doom and gloom these writers insist on providing us with.  There’s no fun, no romance, no family gatherings … everything is best described as dark story lines with no light in sight.  Too bad, cuz every other soap I watch had wonderful Halloween sets and talented writers who still managed to make the holiday inclusive in its current story lines.  Shame on you people.  How much would it have cost to at least have some of the houses or even the Pub decorated?  Woe is me, what a bunch of cheapskates.

It’s been on forever and involved Vivian in the coffin!   lol   I also wonder if they’ve given up doing most of the holidays because of the pre-emptions that the network seems to love to do?  As to the ornament hanging- for those interested: check out the spoiler board for the answer to your question.  I won’t put it here as it is spoiler free.

I can’t remember a lot of plots and characters on Days, but I do remember Max.  Hope that he had a better life than Pookie.

Maybe they’re caving under the pressure of everyone to be "politically correct" and not mention holidays anymore.  I mean we can’t mention Christmas in public and I’m sure if you’re not going to mention one you can’t mention any of them.

USA (we are still in the USA aren’t we???) all say PC be da_ned!  I will always respect other people, but I will  also always say Merry Christmas too.  "Happy Winter Solstice holiday" my @$$!  It’s Christmas and Hanukkah time and Ho-Ho-HO!

I agree but it seems the ones that say PC be da_ned are’t as vocal as the ones that want things to change.  We all grew up with Christmas and Easter and I never grew a third eye or sprouted extra limbs so it’s not as damaging as some think it is to say Merry Christmas.  I do think it depends on where in the USA you live.

I’m a Christian and was saved in 1995.  When I lived in Chicago you didn’t talk about your beliefs and being a Christian was something you hid except for those in your very close circle.  I worked for a company and there were a lot of Christians there.  They invited me to join their prayer meetings at the same time each day but they had to meet outside of the building.  I moved to Alabama in 2003 and it was like culture shock.  We have 2 morning radio show personalities on a secular station and they’re always talking about their beliefs, God and Christ.  I’ve been to a public meeting where they say a prayer first and I actually worked with a girl who told me she’d never met anyone who didn’t believe in God.  I told her she never left Alabama then because the midwest is full of them.  Where I worked in homecare we had a meeting each morning to discuss our patients we saw and any new orders we’d received. The manager always ended the meetings with prayer.  I kept thinking if I was anywhere other than The Bible Belt she’d have someone sueing her because she was violating their rights NOT to pray.

When we took God out of our schools, Congress, and judicial system – just look what happened to our country!  And I live in a most secular state – some day we’re going to fall off into the ocean and then you will really see wailing and nashing of teeth and crying to God!

I saw an excellent and great movie today, on Inspiration Channel (Christian channel on cable) – called Time Changer

The year is 1890, Bible Professor Russel Carlisle has written a new manuscript, “The Changing Times.” His book is about to receive a unanimous endorsement from the board members of the Grace Bible Seminary … until Dr. Norris Anderson raises in issue over a “difficulty” he has with something Carlisle wrote.

It’s on DVD too if you can get it!  Not to be missed for the message and some good actors in it too.

One particular thing I also miss that we don’t see so much on Days anymore is a church scene – another scene I’d like to see them have at Christmas.

I’ve missed holidays the most…Bo and Hope’s 4th of July picnic, the fairs/carnivals (remember that’s how Bo and Hope first kissed), the balls, cotillions, snow scenes, and no one celebrates a birthday anymore either!

I miss them all getting dressed up for hospital fundraisers, New Years, etc…

    I miss the old Days…

I know Hope mentioned it once I think, they should have kept it in the family.
