Caroline said she has access to all computer files because she works in the billing dept. of the hospital. Since when does Caroline work at St. Mary’s? I thought all her work was done at University Hospital.
November 3, 2010 at 1:46 pm #17640caseyParticipantWhen have we seen Caroline working anywhere other than the Pub?
November 3, 2010 at 2:12 pm #17642PattiParticipantbut there’s no way in the world she would be given a "universal access code" to open patient files. Ridiculous, writers.
November 3, 2010 at 3:19 pm #1765753tdogsParticipantall the things that Caroline and Mel did at the hospital – I don’t care if you work in billing they aren’t going to let you just waltz in as a volunteer and have records access – or in Mel’s case help with patients unsupervised. Quite a stretch in believability here writers for Caroline’s ability to work on confidential records.
November 3, 2010 at 3:33 pm #17660PattiParticipantToday is Peggy McCay’s birthday, and she is 80 years old today. She looks wonderful, don’tcha’ think?
November 3, 2010 at 4:20 pm #17661layseaParticipantthing i’ve heard. There is no way Caroline would switch results. The writers are really making us use our imagination on this one!!!!
November 3, 2010 at 5:20 pm #17662macrrParticipantIs Caroline the one who switched test results for Chloe’s baby? Does this mean the baby is Phillip’s? What was Caroline’s motive? Thanks, Robin
November 3, 2010 at 6:59 pm #1766953tdogsParticipantwant about the craziness goofiness of Salem but there’s got to be something there in the water to keep all these over 45 and over 60 ladies looking so great! *Mrs. H, Julie, Maggie, Caroline, Vivian, Kate, Hope, and Carly all look, looked* (Mrs. H) wonderful!
November 3, 2010 at 7:18 pm #17670Ms. JakeParticipantThe question is "when" did Caroline change the results? They were changed at least twice…so was there an error, and then she changed it…or did she change it first and then it got changed again? I just hope after all this settles the baby is Daniel’s.
November 3, 2010 at 8:43 pm #1767253tdogsParticipantresults of the test – the fact that she had the aduacity to change it in the first place puts her on my "Wow, I used to love you but not anymore" list. I think it is horrible of the writers to not let one person in Salem not go bad, (a past like with Victor being Bo’s father I can understand), but for her to deliberately change a paternity test – to keep her nutso granddaughter happy? Nope, sorry Caroline, you are not on my good list anymore (and it’s getting mighty short).
November 4, 2010 at 12:14 am #17681powerpaw2ParticipantI’ve been trying to deal with Verizon for three weeks. The billing department can’t see what the tech support folks have entered in my account and vice versa. Why in the heck would Salem U’s billing department be able to see lab results??
November 4, 2010 at 1:12 am #1768453tdogsParticipantthe records department…I for one don’t know where she gets her energy taking care of the Pub, cooking chowder, watching the grandkids night and day and all hours in between, then volunteering in the billing department at the hospital no wonder she didn’t have any time for Victor.
November 4, 2010 at 12:03 pm #17690BonbonParticipantStephano is in his 80s and Victor is close to 80 and I think they both look pretty good too. Of course, remember, make-up can do a lot for one’s looks!
November 4, 2010 at 12:52 pm #17698DeeLanParticipantI have a hard time believing this one. Having worked and helping to design the computer program that the hospital used for order entry, billing and documentation I can tell you they can give access on a need to know basis. I worked in Respiratory Therapy and we had to have access to all patient files but didn’t have access to billing. A unit secretary had access to order entry only, a nurse to both order entry and documentation BUT I could read what the nurse entered in the chart but had no way to edit or enter anything Same for nurses, they could see what I charted but couldn’t change anything. We had different screens for entry that were specific to our area. Someone in billing wouldn’t have access to the meat of the patient’s chart due to confidentiality. That goes against those HIPAA rules. The only department that would have access to enter test results is the department that runs the tests and even then I’m sure only certain positions in that department would be able to enter them. Then there’s the fact that the IS department would be able to tell who’s code was used for what and where you went to. If we accessed the file of a patient that wasn’t on our services we would hear about it since it’s all logged and not a secret.
November 4, 2010 at 1:02 pm #17703PattiParticipantHow do we know for sure that Caroline changed it and that was the end of it. We saw so many others accessing the site that it could have possibly been changed several times without others knowing it, so did Caroline really make a change in the paternity, or did she just THINK that she did.
