I think in the interest of keeping peace in our ‘friendly’ little group here, we probably should start a new DWTS thread without any mention of politics in it. Everybody with me?

It’s great when everybody has his/her own opinion and can respectfully disagree with someone as well, but it was getting too personal on the other thread so this is a great idea to leave the politics out of Dancing (where it absolutely doesn’t belong and has no relevance to the show.)
I hope Jennifer wins. I think she is an excellent dancer and she has natural talent. I really hope Bristol doesn’t win (though I give her credit as she’s come a long way) but I’ve known all along that Dancing is a popularity contest and it’s the format of the show to have the people vote. The best dancer doesn’t necessarily win because people are voting for their ‘favorites’ as Brooke and Tom repeatedly say. There have been many dancers I’ve wanted to win but didn’t. Unless the show changes its format, the people have most of the say so the winner may not be the best dancer. I’ve heard there’s a big backlash at ABC with angry viewers writing/calling them about Bristol still being there. And though I don’t think that Bristol should still be there as her dancing is not up to par with the others, it isn’t fair for people to blame her (I’ve been reading other sites and some of the comments are not pretty) as the viewers are voting, not her.

November 19, 2010 at 10:26 am #18294SWParticipanteven though I don’t always agree with what they have to say. I think they know what the dancers are supposed to look like doing the dances. I just either like what I see or don’t. I don’t examine their posture, footwork, or arms (unless they are way off what would look normal). I remember some guy (Mr. T?) who was subbing for his son and he was awful but he didn’t get voted off right away which I think he should have. Also, I hated that ‘garbage’ with Kenny Main on one of this season’s Tuesday night show – tacky and a disgusting waste of airtime!
November 19, 2010 at 12:43 pm #18296BonbonParticipanton this show was when Gilles Marini lost. I thought he was definitely the best dancer and the most entertaining…BUT…he wasn’t very well known and didn’t have much of a fan base. I’ll bet my bippie that if he danced again now, he’d win hands down.
Quite frankly, now that Brandy and Maks are gone, I really don’t care who wins. I think I’ve been quite vocal about not liking Jennifer, and, as much as I’ve been rooting for Bristol, I don’t believe neither she nor Kyle represent what the show’s winner should be.
