I was just discussing this with my mother, and the latest episode where the truth comes out about Philip and Chloe is really comparable to It’s A Wonderful Life and how one person touches so many lives.
This same act between two people has repercussions that have affected many lives in Salem. If you don’t think you have the power to affect lives, just look at this as an example, how one fling created lies, jealousy, deception and most importantly heartbreak for several families. Even if written as a soap, people do things they later regret hoping nothing will come of it, but find out that one moments has resulted in many lives shattered forever.
And I must say the Thursday show’s acting was top notch from everyone.

December 31, 2010 at 12:27 pm #19539BonbonParticipantYesterday’s episode had my rapt attention throughout. The only thing I kept shouting at them was, "Chloe, tell them you weren’t even married yet." (Was Philip? I don’t think so.) I know that doesn’t justify it but at least she didn’t break her wedding vows and at least is a modicum of defense.
This is a real mess, isn’t it? I can’t even imagine how there can be any "happy" resolution to this fiasco.
BTW, did anybody but me think Daniel is a poor excuse for a respected doctor? The first thing he does is take to his fists, twice now with Philip alone. And to pick up that cross to probably kill Philip with it was something no sane person would even consider doing. Daniel has a dangerous temper and I wouldn’t want to live with someone like that, let alone be married to him. I’d think the first thing you’d want to do is ask the person(s) involved for an explanation.
December 31, 2010 at 1:36 pm #19547DeeLanParticipantPhillip was married at the time he did the nasty with Chloe. He and Melanie were living with Maggie and Nathan had already moved out and was coming back to pick something up.

As for Doc Dan, how convenient he appears to forget he had that torrid fling w/Chloe while she was still a married woman. I so wish someone would throw this in his face.December 31, 2010 at 6:04 pm #1957553tdogsParticipantgreat post!

January 3, 2011 at 8:21 pm #19661ta143ParticipantI think Daniel really had an idea something was going on. That’s why he was so quick to believe it. Remember he kept asking Chloe to tell him the truth, especially when she kept changing her mind about the wedding and all that foolishness.
January 3, 2011 at 9:16 pm #1966653tdogsParticipantspeak to Daniel, he "hogs" the conversation and assumes that he knows what they are going to say and just carries on and on and turns the story into another direction and he never learns the truth. I’ve noticed that several times. I know it’s a ploy by the writers (and they do this way too much IMHO), but as far as the characters go, I’d want to grab someone, (i.e., Daniel) that did that by the shoulders and shake the snot outta them and say "LISTEN to me for a second will ya please!!!???!!! – I’m trying to tell you the truth!!!"
