Without mentioning any spoilers, I have to say, I can’t watch this evil, psycho Stefano story unfold. He was tolerable to me for the past year, but with the organ stealing story and now his plans for Rafe, I’m ff’ing through his scenes. The writers have ruined him for me and I won’t watch either Stefano or EJ. Good job writers, I can now get through the entire show in 25 min.
January 22, 2011 at 5:25 pm #20291PattiParticipantI have to wonder if TPTB realize what they are doing to this show reverting back to this kind of writing, or if they even care. Just a few short weeks ago, I was praising the writers; now that I’ve seen the plans for early 2011, I am sick to death of them once again. Will they ever, ever learn that this is not what fans want to see. It’s an unconscionable act on the part of Dena Higley and staff, not to mention Ken Corday, to put this kind of garbage on the table yet again, knowing how the fans feel about the past work of JER and company. Just watch the ratings plummet over this.
January 22, 2011 at 8:11 pm #2029553tdogsParticipantuntil the summer, they will have the teenager stories on again, (and yes, we all know why – to bring in the younger crowd ratings). I for one, will be doing a lot of FF’ding for entire blocks of the show with this and the sci-fi crappiola that is coming. I was so excited and also had a lot of praise and kudo’s to the writers, for about three or four days they really had excellent dialog and story continuity just about a week or so ago, that I thought, "finally, they have seen the light!" Alas, not the case.
January 22, 2011 at 11:41 pm #20303kprstrsParticipantFolks on this board have said for years that they want it to go back to the ‘Old Days’ of Days. I guess we got to go through all the crap Days to get back (WAY BACK) to when it was good! I wonder about who they will have floating above the bed, then when we get past THAT again, maybe we can be into the ‘Good Ole Days’ again!!

Rafe has backed off nicely during the Johnny episode and has done nothing to usurp EJ’s role as dad. For EJ it all comes back to his Sami obsession and all others must be removed.
Days just loves to steamroll these melodrama plots and doesn’t let character get in the way.January 23, 2011 at 6:57 pm #20309BonbonParticipantthat I’m always ready to jump on the bandwagon and complain about storylines, dialog, mistakes they make, etc…but…let’s give these guys (the writers) a break. They are obviously doing the best job they can. Sure, TPTB could fire these writers and hire some new ones, but how does anybody know they can do any better?
As for going back to when Days was better, heck, we complained about stuff way back then also. As soon as I got into a Days newsgroup on the internet (way back in 1995) there were complaints on there about the same things we are complaining about now. Heck, let’s go further back than that. When I started watching with my mom in 1979 we used to gripe and laugh at some of the goings-on.
So, I, for one, will have to say that I resign myself to enjoy the good stuff, i.e. Johnny’s cancer storyline, and accept the bad, i.e. a Rafe clone or whatever they’re going to do.
January 23, 2011 at 11:32 pm #20310kprstrsParticipantGreat response Bonbon! That has been my point also! I have watched since about 1972, and there were some stories that were ‘crazy’ for the time frame (era) even then.
January 24, 2011 at 2:25 pm #20318PattiParticipantpost telling us how you want to "put your foot through your TV," cause it will be coming, I’m sure.
January 24, 2011 at 3:18 pm #20319mommytutuParticipantand I just hate Stefano up to his old wacky stuff. I won’t cut the writers any slack. Other shows make it without all the silly stuff, why can’t Days? Not only that, in this day and age when there are probably thousands of unemployed writers, I’m sure anyone of them could come up with something more original for Stefano. This is pure laziness.
January 24, 2011 at 7:12 pm #20321layseaParticipantStefano back. He has become to soft. He has done some pretty awful stuff in the past, he has always been a favorite of mine. He keeps the show from getting boring and all soaps needs a really bad villian.
January 24, 2011 at 7:20 pm #20322BonbonParticipantmy TV is mounted about 6 feet up on the wall so I can’t get my foot that high! But I’m often tempted!
January 26, 2011 at 7:41 am #20354PunkyParticipantI do not want to watch this Rafe storyline that is coming. I am currently debating between fast forwarding the show to see some or to stop watching all together. We have seen this before. I hate when they just repeat what has been done. Apparently they believe none of their viewers remember John and Roman. I agree about the ratings taking a dive Patti. If only they could poach a writer from Y&R. I am sure they are one of the top reasons that soap is still going strong.
