You have to say this girl has a heart. But she needs to pull it together and understand she’s on a professional gig here.
I knew Carson and Ashley wouldn’t make it and Chris was definitely on the bubble. Some of these voices are incredible – where WERE these people in years past? Last year seemed like amateur hour compared to this sterling lineup.
Really looking forward to the competition!February 24, 2011 at 4:01 pm #21196NoraParticipanti understand why j-lo broke down, he had a very very touching story. i liked him too. i think she’ll stay. i like that little guy with the glasses, the one that did the careokee, who threw jacee out of his group. he’s really good. i like that first girl that got thru to the top 24. also theres alittle 14 year old i like, she has long dark curly hair. she was with the vocal coach from hell. there was another girl from loudon tennessee, i lived there for 2 years. i dont know if she got thru, she sang her duet with that guy that wore the rose suit, the one they said had a unique voice. itll be easier to learn names once they get in the top 24 and 12. i cant wait for tonight!!
February 24, 2011 at 4:08 pm #21197DeeLanParticipantI’m wondering if J Lo’s breakdown wasn’t more hype by the show. I’m not saying she faked it but they have a tendency to show previews and they’re blown out of proportion but when you actually see them it’s nothing like the previews or Ryan’s voice over made you think it would be.
I also think if she wasn’t going to do the show something would have been leaked by now, she most likely just needed a break and saying "I don’t want to do this anymore" might have just meant she wasn’t up to continuing at that time but needed time to pull herself together.
February 24, 2011 at 5:18 pm #21199NoraParticipantthats what i took it as too, that they meant that she didnt want to do anymore of the eliminations, even Ryan said something like… will Randy and Steven have to continue on with the eliminations alone?
February 24, 2011 at 10:30 pm #21209PattiParticipantseeing as how most of them never even heard a Beatles’ song let alone sing one.
February 25, 2011 at 11:58 pm #2124753tdogsParticipantthem say that they’d never heard of the Beatles…oh well, I guess I can turn it around to them and I could say the same thing to them, I’ve never listened to 9 Inch Nails or some of the "newer" other groups either.
February 26, 2011 at 2:31 am #2125953tdogsParticipantsuch a big deal about it – it wasn’t like she didn’t know that she would have to judge the singers and break a few hearts. It’s a tough thing to do granted (it’s like firing someone – not due to their work habits, but due to a lack of work/business – tough thing to do). If it was a true issue, then why did they "milk it for all it was worth" and have what seemed like ten commercials showing her breaking down and Ryan keep harping on it? Once or twice yes, I can see, but they did over kill on it to where it wasn’t even believable.
I would have thought it would have been more interesting though if they’d have Steven or Randy break down…why is it always a woman who’s brought to tears? Ms. Lopez has been in the business for over two decades now, she knows the score of fame.
February 26, 2011 at 12:42 pm #21267BonbonParticipanthad to have been living at the South Pole in an ice cave for their entire life. I can’t believe that. As John Lenon may have said, "If you’ve heard of the Pope, you’ve heard of the Beatles!"
February 26, 2011 at 2:47 pm #21278PattiParticipantbut I was repeating what one of the kids said, that before that particular audition he had ‘never heard a Beatles’ song,’ and now he had 24 hours to learn and rehearse one …… not that he never heard of the Beatles.
