Everyone has been good so far. Stefano is singing now. he’s good, doing a ballard, sort of boring. Lauren was really good. Thia did a much better job, an up beat song. loved her. Casey was awesome as usual too!
Steven’s got another one of Jannnifer’s shirts on again. lol. silky and see through. lol.
March 24, 2011 at 3:20 am #22046DeeLanParticipantEveryone was good tonight and even Paul was tolerable. I think it’s because he wasn’t dancing but his singing voice still gets on my nerves. Like chalk on a blackboard.
March 24, 2011 at 4:06 am #22047NoraParticipantYeah I agree, he was one of the weakest tonight. Thia was alot better but she might be in the bottom too. I LOVED Naima. she was fabulous! her and James were my favs tonight. but it was a great show!! STefano was awesome but his song was boring. and the judges were right about Pia, she needs to cool it with the balads. Lauren was really good to. Haley might be in the bottom 3 too.
March 24, 2011 at 11:37 am #22051DeeLanParticipantI loved how Scotty countrified his song choice. As soon as he started I told my husband that I could see Glenn Campbell doing that and one of the first words out of Randy’s mouth was Glenn Campbell.
I think Scotty’s going to go places and even if he doesn’t win AI he’ll be the male Carrie Underwood with the awards he’ll win his first year.
March 24, 2011 at 1:08 pm #22056PattiParticipantJames for the guys, and Naima for the girls. Paul, please go home. Pia, we know you can sing a ballad, now a little diversity, please. Even Celine Dion gets upbeat in her stage performances, and she’s the ballad queen, IMO. Thia was much better last night, but for some reason I don’t see a strong performance when I watch her. She’s a little boring. I love Casey, but just didn’t enjoy his rendition of Heard It Through The Grapevine last night, although the judges seemed to love it. I did like Lauren last night but Haley’s songs all sound similar to me. Maybe people don’t like her short-short outfits compared to the rest of these kids. Personally, I think she looks terrific from week to week. A little hard to know which way the votes will go tonight. If they base it on individuality, people like Scottie and Paul and Naima will have a much better chance to stay alive, because Motown has always been its own genre, and too much deviation could be a turn-off, because many just won’t accept straying too far from originality where these songs are concerned. I loved it and wish everyone the best of luck, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for James and Naima, because I think they did the best jobs last night.
March 24, 2011 at 1:35 pm #22058caseyParticipantFor me he was hands down spectacular. By far the best performance from him so far. Darn, I didn’t hear James so can’t comment.
Hayley I still don’t connect with. Too much of that “growling” which bugs me. My one overall criticism with many of these singers is they way overdo songs.
Naima definitely her best last night. Casey I have to admit I like but is wearing a bit thin. That kind of snarling approach I guess just isn’t my thing.
But weirdly I do like Paul and I loved him last night.
Scotty as always good, Thia okay too, but she needs to get an identity. Pia is beginning to bring more emotion.
I was disappointed in Stefano. Too much “lounge lizard” and I would rather see him do some classic motown. I don’t consider Lionel Ritchie in that genre.
Lauren still just hasn’t caught my interest.March 24, 2011 at 2:36 pm #22059NoraParticipantI agree Patti, James and Naima were my favs last night too. Jacob was really good too. I think Haley will be in the bottom again. I agree about Casey too, he was better than last week but yes he’s getting old. maybe he’s trying to sound like James. I voted for James and naima only last night. I did think Stefano sang well last night but it was boring too. a few of these guys need to sing more up tempo songs. Thia, Pia, Stefano, maybe even Casey needs to sing a nice slow balad? without his growling voice. I liked Lauren last night too. my guess for the bottom are Haley, Thia, and maybe Paul, I was wrong about PAul last week , heck he wasnt in the bottom at all.
March 24, 2011 at 2:54 pm #22061PattiParticipantand he’s been one of my favorites from day 1; however, he’s falling into that "Johnny-one-note" hole where everything sounds the same, and I think it’s because he has such a unique, gospel-like sound that he just can’t help it. It’s his range that amazes me. There’s just no note that’s too low or too high for him — he’s amazing. It cracked me up last night when Ryan let the front row come up and give him a hug, and then cut it off when the guy came up. ROFLMAO. Also, although Stefano is adorable and sings like a pro already, I thought he made a bad song choice last night He did not connect at all for me. Maybe that’s because I’ve never been a Lionel Ritchie fan, but just was not his best last night for me. Also, the judges are right — you cannot connect with your audience if you can’t look them in the eye. He tried in the beginning, but halfway through those lids were shut. Still think he’s going to be okay tonight.
March 25, 2011 at 11:38 pm #22132ellenkbParticipantHe’s got so much personality and connects well with the audience. Naima was also great – I think she is also just stunning to look at – so interesting with those light eyes!
