Wow!!! Tonight is awesome! I’ve loved everyone tonight, even Jacob! I missed the first couple seconds of his preformance but I thought it was awesome, everyone has been tonight! I LOVED James he’s my favorite tonight so far, and Scotty, everyone is doing the opposite. Stefano is next! I also loved Casey’s song too! I might have to vote for everyone, Haley was good, but wasnt great, not one of my tops so far. she needs to lay off the red lipstick! LOL. Lauren was awesome too. have I mentioned that Everyone is doing an awesome job tonight??
April 7, 2011 at 2:14 am #22481bluebonnetParticipantAnd, another thing I love about this year is the judges. They offer suggestions, but don’t criticize and throw in harsh opinions. By judging this way, they are letting the viewers and listeners decide for themselves.
April 7, 2011 at 2:23 am #22482caseyParticipantwhen he proves he can actually sing. I love his ballads. Jacob has gotten cartoonish by now with me. Hayley I still cannot support – she may have talent but I guess I just don’t care for her style. ITA with Jennifer on Pia. Great technical voice but she needs to up her performance. I still think Miss America bland with her.
April 7, 2011 at 2:29 am #22484DeeLanParticipantThe only thing I had against Jacob was his little speach on the video about how if he’s in the bottom 3 or if he’s voted off it’s not because he didn’t do good it’s because America refuses to look in the mirror and see themselves. I thought that was a bit arrogant.
April 7, 2011 at 12:37 pm #22490caseyParticipantbut I agree, very pompous attitude. You should always act humble even if you have to fake it. America just might see that as a reason for the bottom 3.
I also thought Casey was terrific.April 7, 2011 at 12:49 pm #22492PattiParticipantI didn’t like that rendition of Michael Jackson’s famous "Man in the Mirror". I will never forget the first time I saw it on video, I thought to myself, "my God, that’s the greatest song I ever heard," and no one, absolutely NO ONE should ever attempt to improve on it or change it. Jacob did not do that last night, and I think he will be going home soon. I don’t like the way he moves on stage either.
April 7, 2011 at 1:00 pm #22493PattiParticipantI’m a little afraid for Stefano. He’s still trying to sing these great songs in a key that is too high for him, IMO. It makes him look like he is straining too much to hit some of his notes. Loved the song, though. Don’t know why I can’t seem to warm up to Lauren. She’s got a great voice, but for some reason I see her as a fake …. don’t ask me why, I just do. I do like Haley, but I think she’ll wind up in the bottom 3 tonight, simply because everyone else except for Jacob was better. Plus, I don’t know how many of these young voters can appreciate Janis Joplin’s music. Sweet, sweet Scottie singing my favorite sexy Elvis’ "That’s Alright Mamma" was FABULOUS. He was absolutely one of my favorites last night, and I loved the way he took control of the song, and his voice was perfect for Elvis. Everyone else was fabulous last night, and it’s going to be a matter of everyone voting for their favorites as to who goes through and who goes home tonight. Love, love, love James and he really shocked everybody with slowing down the rock and roll theme last night. He is a very talented young man who is still going through a lot of trials and tribulations in his life, and he seems to be handling them beautifully, and all with a terrific talent. I wish him all the best and hope he goes all the way. Hope his choice to slow things down last night didn’t hurt him, but I don’t think it will because he seems to be very very popular with the voters. Great show!!!
April 7, 2011 at 2:23 pm #22497DeeLanParticipantWhen I first heard Lauren talk she reminded me of Kelli Pickler. I’d read when Kelli was on that her innocence was an act and she wasn’t at all like the person she was portraying. At least that’s what her old high school friends were saying. Lauren seemed to me like she was trying to be the same but then I saw a video and people she knew were on and saying she’s exactly like that and I don’t know if they’re just friends trying to help or she really is that dumb in real life. I have warmed up to her and do like her singing now though.
The 3 I want to go home are Paul, Jacob and Pia. I know everybody likes Pia and she’s got a good voice but it seems the judges are pimping her a bit and she knows it. She’s got a look that says attitude and that turns me off. Jacob is another one that’s got a good voice but he’s a bit over the top and I can see standing by your conviction but he’s a bit rediculous with it. I’m a Christian and I know people who are very fundamentalist but he’s a bit over the top. Every song he sings sounds like he’s in a large church choir and that’s not pop music which is what American Idol is all about. Paul has GOT to go. His voice grates on me and his dancing or lack or is hurtful to watch. That song he sang last night sounded wrong coming form his voice and it’s not a song you smile and show your teeth throughout. When they say to connect with the song they mean emotionally and how can you sing that song and be upbeat and smiling.
April 7, 2011 at 2:34 pm #22498NoraParticipantI used to feel the same way about Lauren at first, She got on my nerves. But her singing is what won me over. I even find her less annoying. I agree that Jacob does need to go. I thought STefano was good, but i do agree that some of those notes were alittle high for him. he’s one that has been singing the same type of songs week to week too. I loved Scotty alot too, I’m glad he did something else besides country. I doubt James has anything to worry about. Everyone seems to love him. I sure do. I voted for him the most. along with Scotty, Lauren, and Casey. How did you feel about his preformance?
April 7, 2011 at 2:58 pm #22501PattiParticipanthe’s sort of like Haley in that he has that ‘growl’ and although he knows how and when to use it, he’s starting to sound like those singers who fall into that mode of ‘everything sounds the same,’ and I don’t know if that’s going to be enough this season with so much talented diversity being shown by some of the other contestants. What stands out for me with Casey is what Steven said about him last night in that he is a ‘complete’ musician, not just a singer. He is undoubtedly an accomplished instrumentalist with his stand-up base, guitar and that funny little instrument (don’t know what it’s called) he played when he auditioned. I’m sure he can play piano as well. I’m just not sure that with all of this talent this year, that it will be enough for Casey to survive, but I do like him a lot.
April 7, 2011 at 3:30 pm #22503NoraParticipantBut you do have to admit after the judges gave him that advice on the growling he has gotten alot better. I think he really took that advice to heart not to mention him being saved I think really hit home.
April 7, 2011 at 9:40 pm #22511caseyParticipantI agree there is something about her that doesn’t seem to come from deep inside. As if all her life she’s probably been told what a voice she has and believes she can just take this competition. Plus for all those amazing notes she sings, I never get goosebumps. And that’s that certain something all the great ones have that for me is lacking in this girl.
April 7, 2011 at 10:43 pm #22513NoraParticipantCount me in on Pia too. She’s good, and she knows it. but you’re right, now with James, he has it, he can give you the goosebumps. or Scotty. It’ll be interesting tonight who goes home.
April 7, 2011 at 11:15 pm #22515DeeLanParticipantDial Idol has the predictions as tied for last Paul, Jacob, Stefano and Lauren. next is Haley and Casey with Pia, James and Scotty in the saved spots.
Right now they’re not as accurate as they are farther along in the competition
nobody’s in the red which means most likely going home
6 of the 9 are in the yellow which means may be voted off or safe but too close
3 are in the green which is not predicted to be voted off.
April 8, 2011 at 12:24 am #22516NoraParticipantSo far Stefano is in danger of going home. Constantine is singing now from season 4. the dude with long curly hair that always looked into the camera longingly. lol. singing unchained melody. different rendition, not bad.
