Poor Shelly Henning, what a slap in the face from this no-talent writing staff. Regardless of the character of Stephanie, who, present company included, was not a well-liked character. I would say many, present company included again, despised her. But, the actress, Shelly Henning, was terrific and the fact that someone up in the booths didn’t think she deserved an exit story just goes to show you how disrespectful they can be to a good actress simply because she thought she could do better somewhere else and quit on their asses. You go, Shelly. The very, very best of luck to you. I hope you make it big time. You’ll go down in DOOL history like many others before you, (like Jed Allen who went to mail a letter and never came back), who was sitting at a table in the Java Cafe talking to Dario Hernandez, refusing to tell him anything else about Melanie, got up from her chair and walked out, never to be seen or heard from again. Shame on you Ken Corday, and Dena Higley, you can find the time to write a bunch of bullshit for those you care about, but a truly beautiful, talented girl like Shelly gets a one-way ticked out of Java Cafe, and then, ………………. THAT’S ALL THERE IS???????? Shame, Shame, Shame, you two are a piece of work.
April 8, 2011 at 2:09 pm #22537bluebonnetParticipantthat yesterday was her swan song! Man, if that’s all they are going to do on her last show, that is pretty lame.
April 8, 2011 at 2:13 pm #22540luckeyParticipanthave her say she was going to live with her parents or something. Is Nathan’s character gone now too? I know they did talk recently about the job at Johns Hopkins still being available, but I can’t remember if his last conversation with Maggie was him saying goodbye.

April 8, 2011 at 2:34 pm #22544PattiParticipantat least did get to say goodbye to Maggie and Carly and Jen before the show ended. Stefanie, as far as I can tell, did not even tell anybody she was leaving. It was like she was just leaving an unwanted conversation with Dario about Melanie and then returning to work. As far as I can remember, she didn’t even give notice at the hospital. Really, really bad.
April 8, 2011 at 2:53 pm #22545mommytutuParticipantMakes me wonder what will happen to Phillip. He also quit and is in the middle of a big storyline. Have they re-cast his role or is he just going to take Parker for a walk and disappear?

April 8, 2011 at 3:50 pm #22551caseyParticipantcouldn’t they even give her five minutes to say she needed a fresh start or simply to visit her parents. Pretty tactless and/or lazy, Days!
April 10, 2011 at 1:46 am #22633JennyK35ParticipantI won’t miss her that’s for sure! Of course I wish the actress well, but I HATE Stephanie with a passion! I wanted to see Nathan with Melanie. That bothered me that she turned him away, but I do understand that she is going through hell right now.
April 10, 2011 at 3:58 am #2263853tdogsParticipantto act a bit better (and I mean "act" in all sense of the word).
April 10, 2011 at 10:54 am #22643BonbonParticipantto doubt my sanity. I’ve never seen Stephanie to be as bad as most of you claim. In fact, I kind of liked her character. Yes, she had some bad writing, but not bad enough to tmake me hate (or even dislike) her.
Now, with Melanie, in the beginning, yes, I detested her character but I’ve gotten to appreciate her since she has abandoned the extortionist ways. I don’t mind her face contortions, her mannerisms, etc. What’s wrong with me anyway?
April 10, 2011 at 2:10 pm #22650DeeLanParticipantNothing. I didn’t like the character or manipulator the Stephanie had become but she didn’t bother me much. I think Melanie’s cute and he manerisms make her cuter to me. She’s still a little kid or little girl who needs someone to teach her a few things since she aparently didn’t have a normal childhood and had nobody to teach her. Maggie’s doing a good job of that and she’s learning quickly but still has her moments and when called on them she straightens up.
April 10, 2011 at 7:14 pm #2266853tdogsParticipantstand the whiney, crying, manipulative, constantly jealous -itch she’d become – the birth control pills, the plotting, the Max-Ford-Phillip-Nathan things, the attempted change of the parternity test, etc., (I suppose you could inject any of the female’s in Salem doing the same dirty deeds here too), but Stephenie just never sat well with me…she was just to clingly to men.
Shelly was a good and beautiful actress – it was the writing of her character that did Stephanie Johnson in for me.
April 11, 2011 at 12:29 am #22684luckeyParticipantnever got that irritated with her. Now, the Melanie character and the actress that portrays her, is a different story. She’s not my cup of tea at all.
April 12, 2011 at 3:46 pm #22751zsuzsaParticipantAs far as we know, Cassie is still upstairs at the Brady Pub! Oh, wait! Cassie who? Kate talks about Billie and Austin growing up without her, but I guess Rex and Cassie just never existed! (Can’t say I blame anyone for trying to forget THAT storyline!)
