What a crap ending to JKJ’s time on Days. They couldn’t do something better than that? Sorry, but none of this story seems remotely in character for any of them. Phillip would have fought the decision or made a deal with Chloe. They could have recast Phillip and had a better story. Now, poor Chloe is going to be devastated about losing her child and go off the deep end once more. No husband, no child, no future. You suck writers!
but the fact that they’re not killing him off tells me the plan was to leave the door open for a return if things don’t work out well for JKJ in his search for new ventures. I think down the road, he’ll be back, but there’s been no recast that I’ve read about so far.
but I would hope that his character of Phillip is not recast…they should have given him a better send off, but I’m so glad they didn’t kill him off. I didn’t like the guy who was recast as Phillip last time (and that was when I had a VCR – so much more difficult to FF’d in those days)…so hopefully they will bring back "dimples" if things don’t work out like you mentioned.
I hope JKJ will be very successful in whatever he does, but he will always be ‘Philip’ for me. I just can’t imagine anyone who could replace him. I hope the ‘door’ will always be open for his return if he ever wants to.

and Brandon Walker, and a few of the others – (unless they are on shows I don’t watch)…I’ve seen them here in there in a fast food chicken commerical and in a really stupid science fiction movie, but the BIG time box office or hit t.v. series, no. I think it would have been better for JKJ to ask for a leave of absence from his contract – the PTB would have been smart to give him four or six months or even a year. Unless he’s got something set in stone, it’s a tough business out there for actors.
he was into music and was wondering if that is why he put up a fuss (sort of) about not wanting to cut his hair if he was doing "rock" – just curious.
to pursue that. I know he was in that show "Northshore" too, but he also talked about his music being a very important part of his life. At least that’s what I read in some interviews a few years ago.
I have become a very big one since he came back. I will miss him so much. I really don’t know how they are going to work his being gone with what’s going on with Chloe, Parker, etc. but I’m not feeling too good about a recast. It’s the same with Belle and Sean, if they have to recast them to bring them back, don’t bother.
But…if I could handle the loss of Marlena and John (and a whole slew of others over the years), I guess I can get used to Philip being gone. <sigh>
