Who is Nicky? If Lawrence was his father, who is his mother? If it’s Carly, why didn’t she raise him? How is Vivian related? Was Carly’s married name Alamain? Wasn’t John Black an Alamain? But wasn’t he related to Stefano in the end?
Nicky is Carly’s son. Not sure the exact story but when Vivian first came to Salem she had Nicky with her and she was Auntie Viv. After Carly came it was discovered that she was Nicholas’s mother and Lawrence was the father. This is where I’m not sure how it came to be that she either thought he was dead or gave him up or if he was taken from her at birth. But that’s one of the reasons Vivian hates Carly so much. Because Carly wanted her son back. Carly and Lawrence married and they left with Nicky.
Nicolas Alamain came on the show several years ago as a young adult, 26 maybe. I can’t remember if he was there with Viv or not, but there was a big storyline with him where he slept with Kate. He is Carly and Lawrence’s son, and therefore Vivian is his great-aunt because Vivian was Lawrence’s aunt. Apparently, Viv has been badmouthing about Carly to Nicolas so that he would not want anything to do with her even though he knew Lawrence was an abusive husband/father.
was born dead but Viv had taken him away to raise as her own…kind of like Georgia/Chelsea.
The thing that is not consistent with history, however, is Lawrence’s abusiveness. When he and Carly left Salem, all three were a happy family with no signs whatsoever of Lawrence being anything but a loving husband.
So, it’s not really clear whether or not Nicky ever witnessed Lawrence’s actions and may just be taking everything at Vivian’s word. I’m sure eventually it’ll all come out in the wash how bad he was and he’ll forgive his mom, just like Melanie did.
If I remember Carly said something happened to Lawrence and it was an illness that seemed to change his mental status and he became abusive and controlling.
When Carly was on the phone with Nicholas didn’t she tell him he’d seen the bruises so it seems to me he witnessed some of his abuse. Whether he was a recipient of any of it is another question.
I don’t know but that sure would be a very interesting storyline. It seems obvious to me that Nicky is coming back, first to reunite with Viv, and of course he will more than likely make Carly’s life a living hell. He’ll also meet his half-sister Melanie, and with the way things have been going with her, I can see that being a big problem! She will defend her mom and Daniel will get involved to protect both of them and wow, what a mess that could be!
They really never (or else way before my time) explained the Alamains, so perhaps Lawrence was a good guy when he left but had some kind of mental breakdown that caused him to become the ogre he became – everyone blames Carly for offing him but the way the PTB explained the SL and how much a bad a– Lawrence was – who wouldn’t be desperate enough to do what she did? Besides that Vivy is always in DENIAL (not the river in Egypt)…and has always been a half a bubble off especially when it came to her beloved Lawrence.
Here’s some more information about Carly.
I remember vaguely that someone had taken him away and pretended he was dead because Lawrence had tried to kill him by drowning him in the family pool when he was a kid. For some reason I seem to think it was Vivian that was the one that took him away. He had been adopted by the Alamains was the story that came out as to how he was an Alamain although he wasn’t genetically an Alamain. They changed the storyline to later have him be Stefano’s half-brother with Santo being his father and Colleen Brady his mother. He had quite a history- priest, amnesiac who took the name John Black off a plague, an Alamain, and finally a Dimera.
So given that, Lawrence had a temper and was an attempted murderer even as a child.
