One of the girls from last season, Ashley is center stage this time around. Every season the producers seem to slip in some loser who is there only for publicity. So Ashley is telling the host Chris that someone gave her the heads up on this guy Bentley who isn’t there to find a mate. And Chris acts like he has no clue. And of course Ashley falls for this Bentley’s line and keeps him around.
So is the show rigged or what?
Meanwhile, I think last season’s Emily and Brad as splitsville. Gee, couldn’t see that coming!May 25, 2011 at 2:57 pm #24009PattiParticipantI like the very first guy she met, and she seemed impressed with him from the minute he got out of the limo. Tim, the drunk, needed to be escorted the minute he got that drunk to begin with, and not wait until he fell asleep on the sofa, snoring his ass off. What a turn-off, plus he looked older. He was disgusting. The more she tried to wake him up to talk with him, the louder he snored. The guy in the mask was also ridiculous. Showing up that way made him look like a jerk. He tried to cover it with all these cliches like "it’s what’s inside that counts, not outside,…." blah, blah, blah, and Ashley fell for it. He’s not bad, but so far I’m impressed with the bachelors this time around. Most of them are really cuties, and seemingly have pretty good jobs …. couple of lawyers, couple of executives; I also liked the winemaker, but then I’m partial to longer hair on men still, although I did like the New Yorker with the least hair of all, so I’m all over the place thus far. But, I can say, the one I disliked the most and was suspicious of the most was BENTLEY. Why can’t these girls see when they’re being set up? They have no intuition whatsoever. I’m going to stay with it this year, because I think Ashley is adorable and I hope to see her wind up with Ryan (the 1st guy she met). She also gave him the "first impression" rose, so I’ve got my fingers crossed for them early in the game.
May 25, 2011 at 4:09 pm #24010caseyParticipantbut what was with that drunk?! How utterly embarrassing behavior. I always say I won’t watch this show, but then I end up getting hooked. I can see the same ol’ scenario with Ashely keeping Bentley around and then she’ll find the truth and be crushed, like the others before her.
I don’t see what she found in the “Phantom.” If he really believes that line, then he’s taking himself far too seriously – and kind of creepy!June 14, 2011 at 1:12 pm #24511caseyParticipantstill mooning over that jerk Bentley? I mean even when he was faking it w/Ash, he didn’t show anything remotely romantic. And after that lame, get me outta here farewell, it was blatantly obvious he wasn’t interested in her in the least.
Are Ben and Constantine the same person? Boy do they look alike to me!June 14, 2011 at 4:35 pm #24518PattiParticipantwhat’s up with that. Do they think he’s a phony and hiding something like Bentley? Seems that Ashley is taking their remarks a little too seriously about their disapproval of Ryan, or did I miss something that he said or did. I think he’s a sweetheart.
June 21, 2011 at 12:44 pm #24681caseyParticipantI think Ben the winemaker is the best candidate I’ve seen on this show in a long time. Seems like a genuinely nice, down to earth, reliable guy. If Ashley doesn’t take him I will!!
July 12, 2011 at 12:31 pm #25092caseyParticipantwould be the chosen one, so I was surprised last night. He does kinda get on your nerves going on and on talking about heaters, etc. Why do I think though we haven’t seen the last of him?
July 12, 2011 at 2:42 pm #25104PattiParticipantI picked Ryan from the first time I saw him. He was the first to meet Ashley, the first one out of the first limo, and they seemed to have an instant attraction. I know a lot of the guys didn’t like him, but that’s expected; they all try to shoot one another in the foot at some point. I thought he was really sweet, good natured, and genuinely seemed to care for Ashley. Yes, he did talk a lot, though, and for as little time as these guys get so spend quality time with this girl, he should have realized that the last thing she wanted to hear about was his theories on hot water heaters and how to have a better system for heating water. Jesus, Ryan, I would have had to kick you in the butt myself for that use of "quality" time.
August 2, 2011 at 2:36 am #25535caseyParticipantThis show gives itself away whenever the contestant says they feel so confident. I knew all along it would be JP.
August 2, 2011 at 3:09 am #25540PattiParticipantand for Ben to arrive first really convinced me that she was going to choose J.P. I liked both of these guys, but her sister got on my nerves the way she condemned J.P. in, what, 15 minutes, telling Ashley and J.P., both, that she felt he was not for her. I hope they last just to prove her wrong. She was cruel to judge him that way.
August 2, 2011 at 12:46 pm #25548caseyParticipanton the after the rose show she was completely wrong about judging JP. Makes me wonder if the producers told her to be critical just to toss in more drama and throw viewers off the track a bit.
August 2, 2011 at 2:03 pm #25551PattiParticipantat least on my TV. I was watching it right up to where JP was ready to join Ashley and Chris, and during or shortly after the commercial break, when I switched back to The Bachelorette, it was still listed as being on, but I was watching the new show "Take the Money and Run." Still scratching my head. Never did get to see Ashley and J.P.’s discussions.
August 2, 2011 at 4:15 pm #25554SWParticipantafter but that being in the middle was just plain weird! Either someone screwed up or ABC was trying to attract viewers for the new show with a captive audience but it didn’t work!
August 2, 2011 at 11:40 pm #25562deemarieParticipantI think they announced that they were showing a "special preview" of the new show. It was fun to watch, but I think it would have been better placed at the end of the show.
