She is truly hysterical, witty, clever, and highly intellectual, and in all good conscience I should say will probably never, ever return to DOOL, especially after this blog. Please, friends, do yourself a favor and read it. It’s a little long, but soooo well worth the time.

I very much enjoyed her. So much more clever and funny than anything that was ever written for her on Days.
Sad how they treat the folks there. I just lost my job the first of the year and could so relate with what she was saying.
How sad! Employers DON’T care, as long as THEY are not the ones being cut! It is what it is, and those of us who are blessed enough to continue to have employment just keep plugging along hoping we are not next. Never in my life have I felt so much like a hamster, or possibly a goat during roundup!

I think Louise may have a somewhat inflated opinion of herself. She threw a hissy-fit last time she was let go of Days too. I was VERY surprised that they would EVER take her back. Apparently she doesn’t understand (even after all these years) that acting is never a permanent job, even under the best of circumstances.
Of course, losing one’s job is demoralizing, degrading, embarassing, and a bitter pill to swallow. But she should understand it’s nothing personal against her, it’s all relative to the bottom line. I think she should get over herself and stop thinking of herself as being better than someone in a walker. There but for the grace of God go you, Louise. She apparently thinks she is too good for certain roles.
Yes, she is a very talented person but I don’t think a very nice one. That article definitely made me think much less of her.
Louise is obviously an extremely bright woman. She should get into writing – what a gift for words she has!
Yes, I believe in the old school that employers should terminate face to face. Very classless and bush league.
On the con, she apparently has a superior vision of herself. That put down of the “grey” audition was uncalled for and snooty. Apparently in some ways Louise is not that far removed from her Days character.all I saw in that blog was her beyond belief hurt for being demoralized and kicked to the curb ….. A SECOND TIME. This woman IS extremely talented. It’s not her fault she had shitty writers and a louse for a boss who not once, but twice, saw fit to "take her out." Well, this time she’d be damned to take it lying down, and I can’t say that I blame her. I don’t believe she has too high of an opinion of herself at all. Her words might have been a little harsh when she talked about the "grey" audition; but it was obviously meant to be comical, and to me it was a means to an end outlet she obviously needed to take. She damn well knows how old she is, and she certainly must realize that she can’t pull off 40 any longer. We all have to accept that fact when we look in the mirror from year to year. I just think she was so hurt that she was not given the courtesy of a face-to-face meeting with KC, that this was her way of lashing out at him. She proved, to me at least, that she indeed did have a heart when she felt so completely sorry for the two other employees who were fired before her. To me she was just rephrasing the "age" old adage, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." I’m sure she had mixed emotions when she wrote the blog, because according to some articles I’ve read about her, she truly loves many of her co-stars, young and old alike. She just appears to have more nerve than most of them when it comes to voicing her opinion, and I would not be the least surprised if she doesn’t go off on KC again before she leaves, for good this time around. I agree with her to a point – employers just don’t give a damn any longer; if they did, KC would have met with her face-to-face. However, knowing this is Louise Sorrel we’re talking about here, and probably knowing how she would have taken it for the SECOND time around, tells me that he would rather eat shit and die before doing that.
I have NEVER liked the Vivian character, however, I agree whole heartedly with you on Ms. Sorrell!!! I think she was ‘used’ by KC and thrown to the wolves when he no longer needed her. I know it is ‘bottom line’ but some compassion would be nice!
was that seeing the impact on the secretary and line producer being unceremoniously dumped on a Friday afternnon (which by the way you are never supposed to do. You always fire on Monday so that the employee doesn’t have the whole weekend to sit around and feel bad but can immediately begin looking for new employment) is what set her off. Not about herself specifically but a general lack of common courtesy in the world today. She never comes across as thinking she was too good to lose her job, but does comment on the fact that an actress never knows how long her job is going to last. Her laments are mainly about the lack of class in the work place today and I can say I agree with her 199%.
