Is it just me or anyone else growing tired of the surly, drink attached to hand Brady Black? I hope the new writers (maybe through some sessions w/Marlena?) release him from this funk. I’ve had enough of the morose, wallowing in pity personality (and no one has mentioned he might have an a proble w/ the bottle? I mean I don’t know of any drug addict that could handle alcohol).
And why should he be protected from assault? Sure, EJ had it coming but that was a vicious beating.EJ/Brady/Nicole have a drink in their hand way too often for me. It doesn’t send a good message to younger viewers.
Today for the first time, I really didn’t like the character of Brady at all. I never really thought about it before today, but after watching his performance I realized that he was really rubbing me the wrong way. In his scene with Taylor, I couldn’t decide which one was more irritating. Please bring back the old Brady and send Taylor packing.
and I can’t stand the way he is acting. I knew they intended to give him a darker side, but he’s becoming close to repulsive. I like EM, but if this is how Brady is going to continue to spiral, then I have no use for him. He can use Ariana’s death as his excuse all he wants, but where was all that concern for months after she was killed? Hiding deep inside his heart maybe? This is not working for me either. This is not the Brady Black I want to see. He’s becoming fast-forward material for me.
AA – it’s just not EJ, Brady and Nicole, – Kate and Stefano, R2 did a lot of tipping, as well. Victor imbibes quiet a bit as well. Mel’s not a teetoataler (sp) either.
I love EM also and, although I can’t say I dislike Brady, I certainly don’t like the way they are writing for him now.
And I want to know how in the heck Taylor "knocked him out" by hitting him on the back??? I don’t think the writers realize just how hard you’d have to hit someone over the head to knock them out. You really need an awful lot of force behind it. Not only that, I sure wouldn’t want to take the chance of doing serious harm to someone I cared for just to immobilize them. Why didn’t she just leave and then call Bo?
If any of you recall, when the original character of Brady came to Salem as a young man, he was pretty despicable. I remember wishing they would write the character off. He wasn’t drinking, but he was mean and very resentful of Marlena, which I thought was odd since Marlena had practically raised him. I think we are all used to the sweeter Brady and seeing him mean, vengeful and drunk is off-putting.
