I swear if I have to hear Daniel yell "Melanie!" or "Lexie!" while operating on Maggie one more time I’ll scream. I mean how unprofessional can they be? No one with any personal connection to Maggie should even be in that room! So Maggie is bleeding to death in the OR and Lexie is just standing there staring at the bullet? And don’t even get me started on Daniel’s annoying halted speech pattern… "Lexie …..if you don’t do this right……now……Maggie……..will……..die!" Oy. This type of forced drama makes me laugh.
Oh, I agree with you! And I might be wrong, but I could have sworn when Maggie was brought in to the ER they said she was shot in the left upper chest. But Dr. Dan was operating on her abdomen from the view I saw. And I don’t work in the OR, but I’m pretty sure that the surgeon is working in a methodical manner–not getting all freaked out because he can’t find the bleeder–at least that’s how I saw it. And talk about skeleton staff–there should have been way more people in the OR.
That entire operation scene was laughable! Are you kidding me? Doc Dan didn’t even try to look the surgeon – the way his fingers were mindlessly fiddling in the surgical field and even using the paddles was a hoot. Even for Days I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more ridiculous OR.
And Lexie standing there staring at the bullet while Mags is at death’s door – !
Hey, wasn’t this supposed to be the start of the new writing regime? Hardly impressive!I was going to comment about the lack of surgical staff. Where’s the entire surgical team. Anesthesiologist, the numerous nurses and OR techs. Last time I had surgery there were about 5 or 6 people in the room as they put me under.
I swore the EMT said Maggie was shot in the lower left quadrant. I thought it was funny that she was laying on the right side. Great way to get the blood to pool and run out, she should have been on her stomach or on the other side with pressure on the entry site to stop the bleeding.

I agree about staff. At first I wondered about the anethesiologist but then realized there was one there, sitting by her head. She was the one reporting on the BP But, no scrub nurse, no roaming nurse (to get the blood, not Mel), and any number of technical assistants. At least they threw a bunch of meat in there. Also, nobody was using the suction to get the blood out of the way. If there was uncontrolled bleeding, that is imperative.

It was laughable! I was actually laughing pretty hard as Dr. Dan’s fingers looked as if he was mixing meat with his hands! He looked more like he was at a cooking demonstration than performing surgery. They probably had to shoot that scene over and over again because I’m sure all of the actors were laughing as well!
Even if they did say upper, when they use the term quadrant then they’re talking about abdomen. If it was in the chest then they’d say upper left or lower left chest. If it was in her back they should have said flank the thoracic, lumbar or whatever region.
Where I worked we weren’t a Trauma Center but before they came out with those we saw our share of GSW’s and I being a respiratory therapist we were ALWAYS on the code team. That’s another thing I don’t understand and it’s not just Days, it’s any medical show. They’re doing CPR on a patient whether it’s on the patient floor the ER and the docs are doing chest compressions then they CALL for Respiratory. Sorry, but every hospital I worked at from large city to small town the docs rarely did compressions. Nurses or respiratory did those, respiratory always used the bag to ventilate the patient. We always had at least 4-5 nurses(1 on each side trying to start IV’s and/or push meds, 1 taking notes and the nurse in charge of the patient to answer any questions AND the nursing supervisor who was just there to make sure everyone was doing their job) and 2 respiratory therapists (2 from the code team and the one caring for the patient at the time but that one left when the code team arrived) in the room. The doc usually stood back and asked what the rhythm was, told us to check for pulses and what meds to push next. The ER was the only place a doc might have done compressions.
switched the machine off and Maggie was declared dead at the end of Tuesday’s show. Then, the previews for Wed showed the machine back on. Even if her heart started back up again, how would they know since the machine was off? Odd, odd, odd.
that Maggie had not been intubated during her surgery? It’s highly unlikely they’d be using an oxygen mask for general anethesia. What’s up with that?
Also, today, the blood was on Victor’s right side of his jacket. Yesterday it was on the left. Also, how come the blood on his shirt collar hasn’t turned brown. I’ve never seen any blood that stays that red after it dries. <sigh>
