According to About.com Jennifer Aniston might be making a guest appearance on Days to help plan Victor and Maggie’s wedding.
August 16, 2011 at 11:33 am #25902BonbonParticipantsays definitely not true. Too bad. That’d be cool. I know their relationship has been "strained" in the past but I thought they had pretty much mended things.
August 16, 2011 at 11:44 am #25904DeeLanParticipantThe article in that link was changed since I read it. When I read they said it was a rumor and she may be on to help plan "my big fat Greek wedding" and talked about how great it would be.
August 16, 2011 at 1:27 pm #25911PattiParticipantbut how many times have we seen that happen before? They might not want to give too much away too soon, and then, when it hits the internet and becomes a full blown rumor, they vehemently deny it, only to have it confirmed later on. I would love to see Jennifer in the role of a wedding planner for Victor and Maggie’s wedding. That would be delightful.
August 16, 2011 at 7:57 pm #25919luckeyParticipantnight. They made it sound like it was a done deal. We’ll see. I agree with Patti that it would be a fun scenario to watch.
August 17, 2011 at 12:36 am #25921annieoParticipantJennifer Aniston on Days Of Our Lives? Apparently, it’s going to happen! Jen’s dad, John Aniston has been on the show for an astounding 24 years, playing Greek mobman Victor Kiriakis. The problem is that NBC plans to shelve the soap because ratings are really low. Everyone’s leaping to the show’s defense with viewers and the stars both petitioning. Enter, Jennifer. Producers believe that an appearance by her will help draw people in, which gives the show a chance for survival.
She’s supposedly going to play a “frazzled” wedding planner who helps her father’s character marry Maggie Norton, played by Suzanne Rogers. A source reveals, “We’re hoping Jen will join us in November, when all the networks are at their most competitive. She has said she wants to help but her schedule is so tight we may have to cram a lot of shooting into just a few days.” So this is really going to happen. Well, it seems quite full circle-ish anyway. She started and got her biggest break with television so there’s no harm in going back.
Papa’s pretty happy his daughter’s chipping in, too. The source added, “John is thrilled at the prospect of working alongside his daughter for the first time. He didn’t approach her, though. The show’s executive producers did because John didn’t want to put Jen under pressure.” Another source corroborated the deal with, “She wants to do it and she’s happy to take the bare minimum Screen Actors’ Guild day rate. The idea of a semi-comedic role opposite her dad is hugely appealing to Jennifer.” Would you tune in to watch?
August 17, 2011 at 2:27 am #25922PattiParticipantBut the show is locked into two more years on their contract with NBC, and I hardly believe NBC would want to break that, because they would have to pay out big bucks to do so. They’re here through 2013 at least, so that statement about NBC "planning to shelve the show because ratings are really low" is hard to believe. In any case, looks like Jennifer Aniston’s planning to do the show appears to be a go to me.
August 17, 2011 at 12:49 pm #25923SWParticipantcharacter name right for Maggie either! I would think it might be fun for her to do a short thing with her father since they’ve never worked together before. Since they are taping way ahead of schedule, I wouldn’t think it would be as hard to do as this article indicates either.
August 17, 2011 at 1:13 pm #25924BonbonParticipantthey were actually trying to keep this secret, therefore the denial of her appearance. However, it also seems to me that they’d want to publicize it as much as possible to get as many people to watch as they can. But then, I’m not a TV executive so what do I know? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. But I sure hope it’s true.
August 17, 2011 at 2:52 pm #25925PattiParticipantI’m certain there will be some kind of publicity urging us to tune in to watch this talented father/daughter appearance, should it become fact. I have no doubt they would promote it, as it would be a terrific boast for the show and the network to make; and, as far as I know, a ‘first’ for a soap opera. I think the ratings would climb as well, which is always a plus for any show.
August 17, 2011 at 6:29 pm #2592653tdogsParticipantout (? hadn’t heard of one, but publicity is publicity) around Thanksgiving holiday, if she will appear on DOOL at sweeps week.
August 18, 2011 at 12:47 pm #25934luckeyParticipantis just a publicity ploy to keep people guessing and build the anticipation so they will have more viewers come November. You know how PR people love to play with the public’s head about these types of things.
