I thought Lucas was already gone…it was so nice (albeit under the circumstances) having him come through the door at Maggies. And he did a wonderful job at the acting with Maggie…I still can’t believe they are letting one of our all time favorites go like that. Poor Lucas – he always got the girl but never got to keep the girl, it would have been nice for them to pair him up with someone – let him find ever lasting love and then ship him off to help Billie out in England or Titan’s Paris office or what ever company he could work in so we could at least have him return in a year or so.
I was so happy to see Lucas come through that door! I hope he sticks around long enough for the funeral.
although sparingly, until sometime in February. No exit storyline that I’ve read yet, though. Too bad. I love Bryan and wish him all the best.
So I was really surprised to see him. Yes, his scenes with Maggie were great but, quite frankly, I don’t see anywhere for Lucas to go. I understand why they’re letting him go.
I’d read that his last day he had 1 scene or 1 line then that was it, nothing and what he was suppose to do that day was not that significant so he decided not to show up for that type of send off. I guess he’ll still be in Salem but like the late Mickey Horton, not on screen.
I’m sure TPTB will see what they are losing. I saw tons of threads on several message boards about how great Maggie and Lucas’ scene wass and how mad people were about Lucas leaving the show. So we shall see.
I loved how Lucas was there for Maggie, prominsing to fix her phone and telling her that mickey was thinking fo her. I also loved how Maggie told Lucas to remind her to get a gift for the officer worker’s child’s wedding and Lucas saying he would take care of it. There was such a potential SL of having Lucas step up and become the rock for Maggie to lean on!! Boy TPTB missed a great opportunity.
He was told, right after being told his contract was not renewed, that since he only had a line or 2 that if he didn’t want to come in for it, he didn’t have to. At first he said he planned to but then rethought it and decided it just wasn’t worth going in for basically nothing.
I cannot believe that Lucas since Micky was his uncle would not go to the house after the funeral. What is worng with these people? he WAS still under contract and common sense is that he would be there!! Also Caroline–why wouldn’t she come to offer advice and comfort since she went through the same thing when Shawn died? The pub was closed but she was a no show!!! Really BAD writing.
His last airing is Feb. 16th so he should have been there but I guess that would have meant counting it as a work day and having to pay him to stand around and do nothing – same for the others that weren’t there. I guess you’re supposed to believe they were there and hiding in another room!
That when they let him go, Brian decided not to go to a recurring role. So I guess they offered him something lesser and he decided not. So from that I can’t figure out if the show decided not to have a goodbye scene or if Brian decided that. It was a confusing statement in the article.
I read that he was suppose to fo one more scene with Sami. He was just in the background and said one line that wasn’t really necessary. This was suppose to be taped after the Christmas holiday and he oped out of it. Don’t know if he will be mentioned and anything will be explained ir if he just stys away–much like Caroline who hasn’t been heard of in quite a while.
with short-term actors, like the actress who played Meredith Hudson, to just disappear, never to be seen or heard from again; but for accomplished vets like Steve Nichols, Mary Beth Evans, and now Bryan Dattilo to have no exit story whatsoever, shame, shame, shame on you Ken Corday. At least we know where Marlena and John are supposed to be, but Patch, Kayla, and now Lucas are just wandering around in limbo, I suppose. Such a horrid way to treat your vets. And, yes, where in the hell is Caroline Brady these days?
