i just saw that james scott and dool did not agree on his contract. he will be gone after his contract is up. it was on soap opera digest.com
OH WOW! I know some people are going to be crushed if EJ leaves. What about him and Nicole getting back together??????? Not sure how I feel if ej. Leaves, but he’s such a big part I hope he doesn’t leave ESP if steffy is getting up in years,
mixed emotions about the character leaving. I despise him as well as Stefano and Kate because the writers never allow them to pay for the evil, despicable things they do to others. On the other hand, every soap has to have a villain and EJ fit the bill so well. On the third hand, I was never a fan of James Scott. So having said that, I guess I’ll just wait to see what actually transpires.

I wonder if JS isn’t continuing, they’ll hire a new EJ? Send EJ to jail for a short time and then hire someone new or wait and see if JS wants to return? EJ was always a strange return for me as he should never have beent that old since the character was born after Will. There wasn’t even a good explaination of how he ended up being raised by Stefano unless Dr. Rolf returned and put baby Elvis in a growing chamber and out popped EJ college grad!

Why are they building up this big story for EJ plus EJ/Nicole, if they aren’t going to keep him around. Personally don’t like him, but I like Nicole so my selfish nature is saddened by the fact that this build-up for the two of them could go down the toilet. Would that mean that Days gets rid of Nicole too? I hope not, but that is usually par for the course if they don’t think they have someone to pair her up with. Right now Melanie is without a man, Nicole would be without a man and I’m afraid that the powers that be would let her go.
Leaking a rumor like this is helpful in getting fans to react. This helps JS to get what he wants. Nothing like fans thinking they are losing their favorite villain to make DOOL cough up some more bucks.
Personally I am not a fan of EJ so it doesn’t matter to me. However, he is very popular and is involved in a huge SL so I am sure they will work it out.
As for James Scott, if he were to leave DOOL, there are not many options in daytime TV. Not sure he is ready for nighttime TV or movies. The way Daytime is going, he is lucky to have a job.
In this economy those of us that have jobs are lucky to have them. Most people are not getting raises at their jobs and some are taking pay cuts just to keep a job. So personally I have to side with the show on this one. Yes, he is a major part of the Days canvas, but no one is unreplaceable. Do you think J&M are being paid the big bucks they were being paid before, doubt it. I bet you they wanted work and they were willing to come back for less because they understand the job market right now. So personally for me, this does not look good in my eyes for JS. So I think this information leaking could maybe loose some fans of his.
I do like JS. He’s been written so poorly through Dena Higley that I have no use for him as that character. However, I must say, I think it’s a ruse to give the fans a new campaign to fight for. Pretty smart on behalf of both JS and the network, because people will continue to watch to see what happens with the character, and JS and KC and/or SONY will sit back and take it all in stride, knowing full well James won’t be going anywhere. I would be highly surprised if he did.
James Scott’s contract is up in MAY 2012. Guess they wanted to start early. This makes me feel that the whole announcement was a roose—they have PLENTY of time to come to terms. Talk about premature announcement!!!!! What a publicity stunt!
First, James would be an idiot to leave that show. As mentioned previously there are now only four soaps and he’s deluding himself if he thinks he’s going to walk out and walk right into feature films, although others have been as foolish to try it before but always had the option of returning to their soap. I don’t think that’s a very big option any more with all the unemployed soap actors out there.
Secondly, I don’t believe the producers would let him leave either. He is far too popular with the fans. I’m talking the actor now, not the character. IMO, right now, he and Nicole are the top two actors on the show. (Let the disagreeing begin.)
And, lastly, who in the world starts contract negotiations a year in advance. GMAB! Sony, for the show…yes, probably…the producers for an actor…no way, José.
…for the heads-up, Justwondering. And oh my…If EJ leaves, THAT’S OFFICIALLY IT for me! No more will I watch!
At the risk of angering lots of fans, sd I said I never was a fan of EJ. Just always felt he was a phoney and felt that he is a manipulator without any genuine feelings other than being in control.
As for Jmes Scott, I have watched several interviews with him and found him to be rude, so don’t really care for him either. (Sorry if I offend anyone one JMHO)
