and call it negativity but, after the initial newness has worn off with these new writers, I can’t say that I see the writing is any better than before. They’ve come up with some new concepts but they don’t seem to be able to get me interested in them.
The web site thing is just plain stupid and I really don’t give a fig about it. And I can’t imagine real guys their age having the conversations these guys are having.
Jack/Jen/Abby…ho-hum.
Maggie begging for information? I think IRL, after requesting the information and being denied, the conversation should have gone something like this: "Okay, if you don’t want to voluntarily cooperate and tell me who "stole" my eggs, I guess I will have to have my attorney notify the authorities about the gross and completely unethical crime committed here and file suit that will cost you every cent you have and ultimately put you out of business…permanently"
And I’m very tired of hearing about the animosity between the two sides of John’s case, Carrie/Austin, Sami/Rafe/ Marlena/Austin Rafe/Austin. Let’s move on. Certainly the whole case can’t rest on a picture of him in an internet cafe. Give us some evidence, exactly what did he do? How did he do it? Did he have help? Where is the money? Unless he did some illegal trading the PBGC (Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation) would be doing the prosecuting, not the SEC.
Actually, what I’m finding is that the conversations go on too long while just saying the same things over and over and over. The veteran actors returning and the new sets can only carry us so far.
So, all in all, it seems I have less interest in the show now than I did before the changes. Of course YMMV.
October 27, 2011 at 12:26 pm #28038PattiParticipantI’m hating the triangles foreshadowing these stories. I thought we were going to be done with that. I know everyone loves E.J. and Nicole, as do I, but this mayor storyline is just as ridiculous as others you mentioned. I know I’ve been reading over and over again how these stories will conclude at the end of the year, but I have to wonder if that’s going to improve things in 2012. Right now I feel like all of the hype about how the actors are so excited about the new writing was just that …. hype …. something to keep the fans hanging on, but if things don’t change drastically by then, I’m afraid you and I won’t be the only ones to be overwhelmed with disappointment. I’m reading the same types of critical posts on several boards I lurk on. We are, after all, entering November sweeps, and I see no break in the boredom hovering over our show with regard to these stories. So let’s go writers …. move it or lose it …. it’s time to give us what you promised.
October 27, 2011 at 12:53 pm #28041SWParticipantall the things happening. We all can’t love all the stories and it’s fun to pick things apart but I am enjoying the show more than I have in a long time.
October 27, 2011 at 1:01 pm #28044caseyParticipantyou say. I believe Days was trying to capitalize on Social Network w/the website, but so far it’s much ado about nothing. Maybe this gambling incident will lead to something, but you’ve gotta go big to infuse drama.
Mags is simply crying way too much and acting the victim. If she’s supposed to be the show’s matriarch, cut the wimpiness and give her some fierceness.
I too, absolutely hate this nonsense among Carrie/Austin/Sami/Rafe.
I’m still willing to give the new team more time, as it hasn’t been that long. Clear John’s name and make it intriguing along the way, get Marlena back to work, trim the overly long converts and infuse some substance that makes me want to say “I can’t wait til tomorrow! ”October 27, 2011 at 3:56 pm #28051mshults60Participantwith Bonbon on the overlong conversations day after day. They are boring me so much that I always keep a book in hand to fill in the gaps. Surely the writers can come up with some new things to discuss and new story lines to develop. Move it along, folks.
October 27, 2011 at 4:59 pm #28055BonbonParticipant(which I basically am enjoying) so much as the long, drawn out conversations saying the same thing every day. If you’re going to have a long-lasting storyline, you’ve got to at least infuse something new into it from time to time.
John’s predicament is a prime example. We don’t know a single thing new about it since it began. It needs some development. How many times have how many characters said that John just can’t be guilty because he is such an upstanding citizen? Okay, okay, we know already!
October 27, 2011 at 7:50 pm #28057dvalParticipantAren’t most elections in early November? So if we are having Halloween this week I wonder just exactly what Abe thinks Jen will be able to accomplish for him and what exactly is Nicole going to do for EJ? And also how does EJ expect to change his image in such a short period of time?
John’s storyline? Ehhh I’m thinking its going to end up being John has been brainwashed again or all of his treatments turned him back into the Pawn and I truthfully don’t care, LOL. Somebody set him up to make a mess of his own life, I guess. The who could be a surprise but maybe not so much. (These are all just opinions on my part, not spoilers.)
Quick question: Did Chloe name her baby Parker for Daniel’s side of the family? Since Mel’s grandmother’s last name is Parker.
October 27, 2011 at 7:55 pm #28058justwonderingParticipantyes, she picked Parker because it was Daniel’s mother’s maiden name.
October 27, 2011 at 10:09 pm #28067NoraParticipantYeah i think I remember Chloe saying thats why she wanted to name him Parker.
October 28, 2011 at 1:25 pm #28084MKParticipantThe only thing I liked about the last couple shows is the Salemites getting ready for Halloween. I love seeing everybody helping with the decorations. Everything else was just okay. I thought yesterday’s scene with Brady and Madison bordered on creepy. I did not find it sensual, passionate or whatever. It was just weird to me. It went on waaayyy too long.
I can’t wait to watch today as it seems the Halloween party starts and everybody will be in costume! That should be great!
October 28, 2011 at 4:05 pm #2809053tdogsParticipanthalf again, and you all know just how excited I was about J&M coming back…Aaaahhhhhh, not so much excitement going on now…Move it along writers, move it along….
