Just watching the episode of Maggie and Victor’s wedding. I know we have complained a lot in the past about the wedding gowns of late, but I thought Maggie was stunning and the gown was beautiful. So appropriate for her. So glad to see wardrobe has finally gotten it right.

perfect for her. I had to laugh when Victor cracked “Sixth time is the charm.”

though it wasn’t as they’d planned with all the hoopla and folks there, it was perfect because they vowed to love each other – most folks don’t find that in their lifetimes.  For Victor, (remembering his other marriages with Kate, and Nicole, etc.,) this is the first real marrying love for him I believe).  For Maggie, letting go of Mickey but still keeping him in her heart but making room to love again with Victor, I’d say it was "Perfect".  I just hope the writers of the show allow them, in spite of what happened in the past, to be happy.

If I ever get married again, Maggie’s wedding gown is just what I’d want to wear.  However, since my husband and I celebrated our golden wedding anniversary on September 30, I don’t think I’m likely to get married again.

Wow, that deserves a big congrats – you’re quite an inspiration in this day of disposable unions.

When we got married, I was 18 and my husband was 20.  I became a grandma at the age of 39  (four children and five grandchildren).  I started watching DOOL about two weeks after it went on the air.

When we went to city hall to get our license, he had to take his mother because women could get married without parental permission at 18 but men had to be 21.  I always joked that his mommy had to give him permission to marry me!  That was 53 years ago but, unfortunately, a divorce prevented us from celebrating it.

You could always renew your vows if you want to wear a wedding dress.  Heck, look how often they do that in Salem.  Maybe when the 60th rolls around.  :o)

My parents were marrried 54 years when my dad died.  I often wondered if their marriage was legal because my mom told me they ran off to get married when she was 16.  One of her older sister’s and her husband went with them and after they got home my dad went back to his place and my mom went back to hers.  A few days later her mother told him to get his things and move in since she knew they were married.

After I got older I did some calculating.  Dad was born in September 1920 and mom in June 1916.  They got married in March 1936 so mom was only 15 and dad was 19.  Don’t know if it was legal for a 15 year old to marry even back then.

I remember (not in sequence):  Carly, Kate, Vivian, Nicole but seem to be missing one…

He was married to Carly, Vivian, Kate, Nicole, Vivian and Maggie.  Only one of his marriages ended in divorce.   Carley, and Vivian #1  were annulled.  Kate and Nicoles were invalid.  Kate’s was invalid because Curtis Reed was discovered alive Nicole was legally married to Trent at the time of her marriage to Victor.  Vivian #2 was a divorce.

Kimberly had an affair with Victor and later had sex with him to save Shane.  Savannah Wilder was working for him and that’s all.

My husband and I had to have all four of our parents go to city hall to sign papers giving their permission for us to get married.  This was in Cleveland, Ohio, and anyone under the age of 21 needed their parents’ permission to marry.  Guys under 18 and girls under 16 could not get married at all.

at my wedding in 2002 was almost the exact same gown!  My husband audibly gasped when he saw it on Maggie!  The ONLY difference was that I had my gown altered to have 3/4 length sleeves instead of the long belled sleeves that Maggie had.  It was great to see it on TV.  I will mention that I was 24 when I got married, and the people at the gown shop cautioned that the design was too old for me, but I thought it was perfect for my church wedding and my husband agreed, so it worked out!
