the last couple of days, I have got to say that today (11/18) I was totally mesmerized by the entire show. The acting was superb. I shed tears several times. Even Austin’s confession made me teary-eyed. Sami, EJ, Will, Marlena, all of them brought tears to my eyes.
But, I’ve got to admit, that as good an actor as I think James Scott is, he doesn’t do grief well. Some of it was pretty good but some of it was horrible.
And now that I’ve seen the beginning of this travesty of soap opera drama, (Sami and EJ), I’ve got to go take some Mylanta to make my stomach feel better. I don’t even know if I’m going to be able to watch the rest of it.
November 18, 2011 at 8:53 pm #28908goodolddaysParticipantit is completely unconceivable to me the way they are screaming at each other and blaming each other, that they end up sleeping together! huh??
November 18, 2011 at 9:11 pm #28909PattiParticipantand I think today’s show was superb. I was shocked at some of the scenes between E.J. and Sami, and can’t even fathom watching them next week, but AS’ and JS’ performances today were not only well done, but they were completely believable to me. I could not take my eyes off of them today, and although I don’t like how it’s going to turn out next week, they were heartfelt for me today. All of the scenes with John before the judge were done well, and I was affected by that outcome as well. Maybe now Austin will find the proof needed to clear John. Will’s scenes when talking to Rafe both before and after realizing that Johnny was alive were another example of fine acting on their parts, especially Will’s. The only disappointment I had with today’s show was having Johnny simply crawl out from under that table with a smile on his face, as if he was actually playing a game of hide and seek. In a way, I suppose that would be any normal 6-yr. old’s reaction, but after the build-up to finding him, I thought he would have at least been crying or showing some fear. Now for the fall-out! (shudder)
November 18, 2011 at 9:19 pm #28910Carol JParticipantIt’s absolutely ludicrous.
November 18, 2011 at 9:22 pm #28911DeeLanParticipantAgree about Johnny smiling. He was locked in there over night and it was dark, most normal 6 year olds would be scared and crying for their mommy.
November 18, 2011 at 9:52 pm #28917lynnekarenParticipantwould have been looking in the kitchen for food, lol. Wasn’t he hungry?
And the cops did a sweep of the place and managed to right tables, but not see him?
November 18, 2011 at 10:36 pm #2892053tdogsParticipant"Keystone Cops Overlook Kid’s Table" or something like that…hiding under a table???…GMAFriggin’B!!! These guys should turn in their badges including the Bo/Hope/Roman/Rafe cops – they couldn’t find their way out of a wet paper bag. The writers stinko at this SL with the kid hiding under a table!
November 18, 2011 at 10:58 pm #28924caseyParticipantwe to make of this? That is was just supercharged emotion of two shocked/grieving parents that exploded into a sexual outlet?
That it’s always been Sami that EJ “loves” or as close to it as he can get? And what about Sami? Has she just always been attracted to this guy beneath the surface?
Or just a device to bring conflict to Sami’s marriage?
And please writers. no more EJ/Sami kids!November 18, 2011 at 11:03 pm #28925caseyParticipanttoday and I haven’t been able to say that for awhile. That Sami/EJ thing – whatever it was – was can’t take your eyes off stuff. John and Marlena brought tears to my eyes. Will terrific. Kudos to Days when they bring it!
November 18, 2011 at 11:05 pm #28927caseyParticipantJohnny probably had been hiding somewhere else and could have hidden there after the search?
November 19, 2011 at 1:00 am #28934bluebonnetParticipant[Sorry. This comment is out of place. I meant this as a response to "GoodOldDays" down below.]
Everything was completely believable up to EJ and Sami’s kiss, but the sudden attraction between the two of them seemed out of left field. It was a disjointed segue from one situation to the other.
November 19, 2011 at 2:41 am #28937justwonderingParticipantActually, if anyone should have done the deed it is Marlena and john–one last time before prison. Instead they held each other gently. Which is something I coul d have accepted from EJ and Sami.
Would have been more believable is Johnny had fallen asleep or had a bump on his head then just hiding under a table.
November 19, 2011 at 12:24 pm #28942BonbonParticipantand I’m sure with as much time as those kids spend there, he knew where the refrigerator and pantry were.
But it is just so ludicrous that all of those people couldn’t find him, even if he changed hiding places every ten minutes.
Between this and the Sami/EJ fiasco, I’m totally frustrated with this show. They force this kind of crap down our throats and then bring us the incredible episode on Friday. Hills and valleys, hills and valleys…
November 19, 2011 at 12:42 pm #28944PattiParticipantI have always believed that Sami is E.J.’s one and only love, and it’s his desire to ‘possess’ her the way Stefano wanted to possess Marlena. I suppose in this instance, though, believing that their child was dead, it could be clarified as "hysterical sex." I did read that E.J. stops and pulls himself away, so I’m not even looking at the possibility of a pregnancy, but if watching the guilt unfold is as dramatic as the building up to the act itself, we should be in for some riveting scenes (I hope). Wonder how long it will take for it to actually come out, and what will Rafe and Nicole do once it does?
November 19, 2011 at 1:41 pm #28953SWParticipantno way should Sami want to have sex with EJ! I guess the writers just want Sami to have more anger/guilt when Johnny is returned to her.
