So the 13 yr old phenom Rachel joined Marcus the perennial low vote getter in the bottom 2 this week. They had a sing off. Both performed well, but for me Rachel blew the roof off.
So it’s down to the four judges to make the decision. 2-1 Rachel, comes down to Nicole’s vote. The emotional basketcase Nicole stumbles and flounders and tearfully wails how she can’t make up her mind and lets the decision revert back to the lowest vote getter. Rachel is out. The kid Rachel collapses in disappointment, the audience boos Nicole.
Simon is not happy.
Why did Nicole sign on for this? She’s actually a bigger emotional wreck than Paula and deserved the audience derision. Lady if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Otherwise, what is the point of having judges if the final decision can be made by viewer vote?
Having said that, Rachel’s devastated outburst tells me she is not yet ready to handle the bigtime. I would advise her to try out for American Idol next year. She just might be ready to take the prize.December 9, 2011 at 5:16 am #29468DeeLanParticipantI can’t believe Nicole. She’s going on and on about how great she thought Rachel was and didn’t want to send her home so what does she do, she lets the voters decide. I can’t believe Rachel got the lowest votes. I don’t believe she would have won but she deserved to be there another week or 2 and Marcus should have gone home.
When she collapsed in tears Don just said that was why they shouldn’t let 13 year olds enter. I do believe she’s got a career ahead of her though and will have a contract by next week if she doesn’t have one already.

She already has put out a couple of CDs and is doing concerts all over the world. And the group that beat her? I’ve never heard about them again.
So, many times it’s the "also-rans" that become more successful than the winners. The public knows just who has the talent and who doesn’t.

Gee, who gets the chance to get up in front of millions, do your own lyrics, get mass exposure?
Think of all the talented people who would give their eye teeth to be in his shoes and this ungrateful kid mouths off like that. Good riddance!December 9, 2011 at 5:22 pm #29494PattiParticipantshe seemed so composed for such a young girl. Her song was better than Marcus’, I just think this show looks at who’s more marketable to the industry. I realize it is supposed to be America’s decision, but I say ‘prove it.’ We don’t see the card; and there’s no meter or scale to show the percentage of votes each singer got (like on The Voice) when America has to make the choice. Marcus is more of a "Babyface" or a "Bruno Mars" type of singer, which is much more popular with the kids buying music today; and (to me) Rachel is someone who belongs on The Disney Channel. I did choke up, though, when she kept looking into her mother’s face and saying "mommy, you promised." How could her mom promise her anything like that?
Nicole is on my very last nerve as a judge. She talks too much; she thinks she knows more than she does; and she is deliberately voting against Simon, IMO. If the X-Faxtor returns next season, I would not at all be surprised if she was not a part of it.
Still think Melanie takes it all.
