so lame…all 12 people who attended. Red, white and blue balloons and 12 people do not a debate make. Embarassed for everyone who had to participate in that scene.
February 4, 2012 at 12:37 am #30779majencoParticipantYeah and what candidates worth their salt would choose to forgo opening remarks? So stupid.
February 4, 2012 at 12:40 am #30780PattiParticipantit was nice to see Nicole and E.J. take a hit for a change. Watching him stammer through those questions and seeing the look on Nicole’s face was priceless to me. Then, by God, she had the nerve to accuse Jennifer and Abe of stealing the questions before the debate when it was her idea to begin with. Laughable …. so eat some crow, Nicole …. have all you want …. goes well with all the rest of the birdshi* that you and E.J. try to feed everyone else. Loved it!!!
February 4, 2012 at 5:15 am #30786justwonderingParticipantI thought the debate was done well. It looked like it was well attended. After all Salem is not the biggest town in the US! But I liked the way it was staged. It was great to see EJ at a loss for words for a change.
February 4, 2012 at 11:46 am #30789BonbonParticipantso attendance there wouldn’t be that great. I’m sure most people would have been watching it on TV. Besides, it’s for mayor, not president.
I thought the way EJ handled the question about the college was a little unrealistic. He should have enough talking points in his bag that he could have winged his way through it better than he did.
February 4, 2012 at 3:42 pm #30796PattiParticipantsince both Nicole and Jennifer got a text indicating Abe got 67% of the voters approval and that he won the debate. I just wish we had seen more of it than we did. I must admit, though, this is going to come back and bite Abe in the butt — maybe not politically, but certainly personally once Lexi finds out the truth. She probably won’t even care that Nicole thought of it first….just that Abe and Jennifer went along with it, making them as bad as E.J. and Nicole in Lexi’s eyes.
February 6, 2012 at 2:28 am #30825cornbreadParticipantC’mon…really? Like the good people of Salem are at home watching a mayoral debate on TV? Of course it wasn’t a presidential debate. But you’d think if the candidates for mayor were appearing in a public forum (i.e. The Horton Square), then more than 12 or so people would show up. Or maybe I couldn’t see the crowd for all the television cameras?
February 6, 2012 at 3:50 pm #30838justwonderingParticipantIt looked like a nice crowd, certainly more than 12. Maybe there was a limited number of seats available, or a ticket was needed to attend- after all it is in a "mall" area. There also could have been additioanl seating in another area. I thought the venue was nicely decorated and the debate was well done.
But I would have liked to hear more of the questions. For all the build up, it was a quick scene. I guess it is more about the tainting of Abe’s character.
February 6, 2012 at 10:24 pm #30845cornbreadParticipantOk, I fold…the debate was wonderful. The scenery was adorable. And the crowd was ginormous.
