I wonder how the actor feels about the way his character is portrayed. He can’t even stand up to that schoolgirl Abby and lets her call all the shots. Can’t he see what’s coming?
March 6, 2012 at 3:05 pm #31582justwonderingParticipantI only knew Austin Peck as Austin, and he was always naive. it seemed that he let everyone walk all over him. This Austin is the same. I know that Patrick was Austin first but he is just as clueless! Don’t know if he was always this dull, but he is not the brightest bulb in the box.
March 6, 2012 at 8:06 pm #31584SWParticipantThey are ruining this Austin too, just call him Ausdum!
March 6, 2012 at 10:41 pm #31586BonbonParticipantI think he needs to tell her that he’s going to tell Jennifer what happened and that she probably needs to talk to somebody about her obsession with him because it just isn’t natural.
Then, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HER. He can tell Carrie anything he wants but just tell her he doesn’t want to be around Abby. In fact, Carrie is sickening the way she fawns over her. Yick!
I also think if Melanie is as good a friend as she claims, she’d knock on Abby’s head and ask her what does she think she’s doing and to wise up and forget about Austin. She’s obviously (even to Mel) delusional. Especially after that trip to GM.
March 7, 2012 at 1:31 pm #31597SWParticipantCarrie that since he asked Abby to work for him, she took it as he was interested in her and is making things up about their relationship that aren’t true. He realizes he needs to fire her from working with him because she is not facing reality and needs help. It would be a he said/she said unless there is proof which I doubt.
March 7, 2012 at 1:40 pm #31601PattiParticipantshe’s turned into a stalker, which these writers don’t know how to write a good story around, I’m certain of that. She’s become the male version of Nick Fallon, and sadly no one can prove her wrong, because Ausdumb believes he slept with her. Personally, I wanted to show him what to do with her skis, but it probably wouldn’t sit well with the viewing audience.
March 7, 2012 at 2:56 pm #31605justwonderingParticipantThat would me that he is smart, which I really don’t think that he is. No smart college professor would get so close to a student worker because it is not wise if you want to keep your job. it is a good idea but I am not sure he could carry it out cause he is not a good liar.
March 7, 2012 at 3:26 pm #31606caseyParticipantdo you think Abs will go with this? I see her maybe setting up Austin in some hotel or something and arranging for Carrie to “catch them.”
But if they’re going to go more the psycho route, it could be interesting if Days writes it well.March 7, 2012 at 5:11 pm #31607luckeyParticipantnickname "Abs", I immediately thought of Polly Parrett (sp?) who plays the lab tech on NCIS.
March 7, 2012 at 10:41 pm #31608caseyParticipantbut maybe great minds think alike!
March 7, 2012 at 10:59 pm #31609macrrParticipantI would add that he also tells Carrie he wants to fire her but is afraid that she will make up stories about their relationship.
But you are right –justwondering– he cannot pull it off. Too bad. Abigail is crazy crazed. Do people really act like this?
March 8, 2012 at 1:09 am #31611PattiParticipantbut certainly not until she drives Carrie straight into Rafe’s open arms, and that’s going to make me sick. It seems to me like once that happens, Austin will finally make her see the light and force her to realize that this has now given him reason to despise everything about her that he once admired. Once he can forcefully do that and she finally realizes what she has done, and that most of all she is not going to become Mrs. Austin Reed, she could possibly suffer a complete meltdown, perhaps even attempt suicide. That’s the route I’d go with it, anyway. Surely Austin won’t allow himself to go near her ever again once she drives Carrie away (if he does, then he deserves the name "Ausdumb"), but it’s hard to say with these writers. They don’t know when they are staring at a gift horse with a storyline in its mouth, and there could certainly be a lot more to it if they would just pull their dull thoughts out of their heads and take this opportunity to be what they are being paid to be — namely, good and juicy soap writers — but I’m not holding onto any high hopes. It will probably simply be swept into a corner and buried along with Mrs. H’s secret envelope for Stefano. Abbey will cry one week and meet someone new the next, realizing she never truly loved Austin after-all, and, of course, that it’s all Jack’s fault for abandoning her (ugh!).
March 8, 2012 at 9:38 am #31615BonbonParticipantseeing a suicide on this show. At least not by a recurring character. Anybody remember any? They’ve tackled many other disagreeable actions, I don’t know why not suicide.
March 9, 2012 at 11:02 pm #31661caseyParticipantfor this guy (even as dumb as a stump Austin!) to be behaving this way. Today (9th) not bothering to put on some clothes, not kicking Abby out immediately, and then to comfort her on a bed in his towel – no wonder Abby keeps thinking she has a chance!
I find it extremely irresponsible for a 40ish married man. But duh, da plot – who couldn’t see that one coming.
Now Carrie will go rushing to Rafe. Yadayadayada.March 10, 2012 at 12:42 am #31665PattiParticipantturned her around and put her out the door. As for Abbey, I hope when all of this is over Carrie lets her have it but good. The girl is a pathetic pain in my a$$ and I hope she gets what’s coming to her. I can’t help but hope that Melanie comes to her senses and realizes that Abbey is not a friend, and outs her once and for all to both Carrie and Austin, as well as to Jack and Jennifer.
