Did they say anything about Ryan Seacrest being ill? I saw something on yahoo about finding a replacement for him, but I think it said seacrest wouldn’t miss a day. He has been on every episode in 11 years! I haven’t seen idol yet tonight I’ll watch it tomorrow. Was it good? What kind of songs did they sing, and who was the mentor? LOL yeah I know, I’ll learn all this tomorrow when I watch it.
May 8, 2012 at 6:04 pm #32870GrockieParticipanthe is joining the Today show. Didn’t read any more than that, not a fan.
May 9, 2012 at 12:45 pm #32886DeeLanParticipantryansecrest.com says it was announced that he is returning to Idol for season 12. http://ryanseacrest.com/2012/04/23/after-hosting-over-400-episodes-ryan-returning-to-idol-for-season-12/
It also talked about him joining The Today Show.
After Ryan’s two year extension with “American Idol” was revealed on Monday, and a three year extension of hit reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” on Tuesday, the week ended with NBCUniversal announcing a groundbreaking multi-platform two-year agreement with Ryan on Friday.
Ryan’s new deal not only includes on-air, broadcasting and producing duties across the NBC and E! networks, but also expands his current on-air presence from solely appearing on E! to include NBC.
Yes, that’s right. You will see the boss on NBC as a special correspondent for your favorite morning program, ”The Today Show.” Ryan will not only contribute to the morning show, but also to NBC’s primetime news and NBC entertainment programming, not the mention his previously announced role on the primetime team for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London
E!’s red carpet fans shouldn’t worry though, as Ryan will continue to be a fixture at awards show hosting and producing E!’s “Live from the Red Carpet” programs, which recently delivered its most-watched awards season in the network’s history.
Though he won’t be hosting “E! News” day-to-day, Ryan is staying on as Managing Editor of the entertainment news show and will occasionally contribute and produce high profile celebrity interviews and content. http://ryanseacrest.com/2012/04/27/nbc-universal-announces-multi-platform-agreement-with-ryan-seacrest/
May 9, 2012 at 3:28 pm #32892PattiParticipantThe guy’s got more jobs than Alison Sweeney.
May 9, 2012 at 3:42 pm #32894BonbonParticipanthe’s a good one to fill Dick Clark’s shoes. He’s as much a workaholic as Dick was. I think Ryan’s one ambitious young man. He seems to be a very likable guy though so I wish him well.
You’re right about Alison. She was on Ellen (I think it was) yesterday but I didn’t watch it. I just can’t get into those talk shows. I DO watch The Doctors occasionally but only if the TV is already on and there’s nothing else to watch. I’ve gotten hooked on How It’s Made and am even fascinated with the shows I’ve already seen. Crazy, huh? (Sorry, that was pretty rambling…I’m going to go take my medication now and go back to my padded room.)
May 10, 2012 at 1:30 pm #32919luckeyParticipantmonths, I’ve become addicted to "The Waltons" on Hallmark Channel. So many of the shows that I know I had seen, I totally forgot about. I watched "How It’s Made" a couple of days ago and was totally involved…great show!
I also think that Ryan Seacrest is striving to be as savvy a business man as Dick Clark. Of course, if Dick was his mentor, he has learned from the best. With the ratings of "Idol" dropping, I’m sure Ryan sees the writing on the wall and is making sure he has a seamless transition in the media world.
May 11, 2012 at 12:27 pm #32964caseyParticipantAccording to TV Guide this show still has both nights rated in the Top Ten and usually either first or second every week.
