I think it should be Hollie’s turn to leave tonight. I did not like either of her songs. Don’t know why the judges raved over the first one – to me it seemed too low a key for her, was kind of monotone and draggy, and only at the end did it come alive.
Why does Josh have to give such frenzied versions every time out? The song for me gets lost in his embellishments.
Did not like Jessica’s first song – she’s too young to make the Blues believable. Boy did she take on a huge monster with that Dreamgirls number. I was quite impressed.May 10, 2012 at 4:23 pm #32928PattiParticipantand it saddens me, because I really like her, but last night sealed her fate, IMO. Jimmy, keeps calling her the "dark horse," but I think the dark horse will be Phillip. The young voters are bedazzled by him, so he has a huge fan base. To me he should have gone home long ago. Didn’t like his first song, but loved his rendition of Volcano, although I don’t think it would have sounded as good if he sang it by himself. The girl doing his harmony, coupled with the unique sound of the cellist, really gave the song and him that special effect quality. Totally agree about Joshua. No matter how hard these judges try to push his greatness, he just sounds too much like Fantasia to me, and I truly believe he tries to imitate her in all of his songs. TMZ said he’s referred to as "Mantasia". LMAO! Jessica, on the other hand, is a tried and true star; and, at 16 years of age, this girl is the real deal and already on her way to stardom. She’s the hands-down winner for me.

None of the contestants really grabbed my attention, Colton did for a while, but he’s gone,I still like jessica, have from the start. She needs to work on her up tempo songs though. Phillip is the clear favorite you can tell by the audience, they yell the loudest when he comes on. He’s good, but I don’t see him as a rock star, and I agree about Joshua. I think it might be either Phillip and Jessica or Phillip and Joshua in the finale.
May 10, 2012 at 6:31 pm #32935DeeLanParticipantI like Phillip and loved his first song. The second song it was great to see him without the guitar.
Jessica just doesn’t do much for me. Watching her last week in that tight white dress that was too old for her I agree with Jimmy and her songs are too old for a 17 year old.
Holly wasn’t good last night but the judges really threw her under the bus after her second song. It looks like they’re trying to get her voted off but as always I think it’s going to come back and bite them in the butt and she’ll be safe.
Joshua in my opinion should have gone home before Colton and before Elise. I love Josh Groban’s "You Raise Me Up" but his version with as Casey said his embellishments ruined it for me. In my opinion Josh Groban is like Aretha and Celene where you can’t do their songs and do them justice.
May 11, 2012 at 5:13 pm #32976NoraParticipantWho was eliminated last night?????
May 11, 2012 at 5:30 pm #32977bluebonnetParticipantShe took it very well, but Joshua was crying buckets.
May 11, 2012 at 6:14 pm #32978NoraParticipantOk thank you! OH why was johsua in the bottom too or maybe he and Hollie were just good friends.
May 11, 2012 at 6:20 pm #32979PattiParticipanthe was the first one sent back to the sofa. Actually, there was no final two at all. They showed clips of each one’s songs from the night before, and sent them all directly back to the sofa before finally announcing the Joshua and Jessica were finalists. Then it was between Phillip and Hollie who would be eliminated, and then finally revealed that Phillip was safe and it was Hollie who would be leaving. She was a real trooper, though, and sang her farewell song perfectly, hugging each contestant and shaking each of the judges during her performance. I wish her well.
May 11, 2012 at 6:22 pm #32980bluebonnetParticipanta bottom group, so don’t know where Joshua was ranked in the Top 4. I think they were just friends. When Idol showed the inside of the house where the contestants live a few weeks ago and told something about each one, they mentioned that Joshua and Hollie were really good friends.
May 11, 2012 at 6:43 pm #32981DeeLanParticipantI was hoping anyone but Phillip would have gone home so I’m happy though I feel the judges gave Holly a bum rap Wednesday with their critique. I feel Joshua murdered "You Raise Me Up" and got a standing ovation for it.
May 11, 2012 at 7:35 pm #32985NoraParticipantI didn’t care for his version of it either, I didn’t even watch the 2nd half of the performances.
