I didn’t watch the new Dallas but a friend of mine said that they gave JR GIST. that’s the type of cancer I have. It’s so rare hardly anyone has heard of it unless you have a family member with it or a friend.
How many of you watched it?

I didn’t realize J.R had cancer on the show, but he was in some sort of nursing home at the beginning and the nurses said he had been depressed. Bobby was diagnosed with stomach tumor cancer, so that’s probably the character you are thinking of.

I watched Dallas back in the day, but don’t know that I was watching it regularly toward the end of the series run. I had forgotten so much that a friend had to catch me up on what was going on with the show when it went off the air.

It was good to see so many of the original actors, though they have aged as the rest of us have!

and then started the second one and got interrupted.  I just don’t know if I want to get hooked on another series.  This one was quite good with some of the veteran characters and many new ones.  It seems to be flowing easily into the new generation.

so I didn’t think I’d be able to get into this one.

Nora, you’ll have to keep us posted how accurate they are about the cancer.  We’ll see if it’s like Days where they make things up as they go along or if they are really concerned with accuracy.

then when Bobby came out of the shower (and said to Pam that it was all a dream)…don’t think I can get hooked on another show – too much going on and my DVR is full of things I thought I’d want to watch but haven’t gotten to – yet.

I think it would be great for your cancer charity Nora if the show (Dallas) did portray GIST in a realistic light to bring awarness to the public by informing us all about what you have to go through and the medical aspect of it.
