was almost not worth watching for me today.
For starters, this Mel kidnapping storyline is so beyond depressing, and needs to end quickly. The only thing that came close to watching it today was Mel’s roundhouse kick to Andrew’s head. Every time he opens that little sliding door to spy on her, first thought for me is ‘if only Mel would wait for it to slide open and then stick a fork in his eye.’
Then we had to not only watch them, but listen to the redundant dialogue between Chad and Gabi, or as I like to refer to them, "Tweedle dum and Tweedle dummer." Please, Calgon, TAKE THEM AWAY.
Moving on to Mr. & Mrs. goo-goo-googly eyes. Rafe has been turned into a pathetic loser for me, and I really really loved this guy at one time. I thought for a while today that Carrie had found her brain and would walk out once she realized that he misled her, but then she just couldn’t help herself, Austin’s baby-in-belly or not. I swear, when they almost kissed I was waiting for a Murphy-bed to come splaying out of the wall. At this point, I would not mind them back-burning Rafe after Carrie and Austin leave Salem, at least until he starts acting like an actor and not a page-reader.
And I cannot dismiss the ridiculous antics of Brady Black. Dude, is it so hard for you to realize that the only time you get this overwhelming energy and euphoric feeling is when you drink that stupid ENERGY drink that makes you feel, oh yeah …. euphoric, energized and HIGH AS A KITE! Maybe you should have had the drink drug-tested.
As for Nicole and E.J., guess what, Junior …. the joke was on you. Oh, and you were so worried about Nicole fainting that you had a rather long chat with Chad at the Pub about upholding the DiMera name while bonding as brothers, all while you were supposed to be so worried about Nicole fainting and needing something sweet for her blood sugar. And Nikki, you jumped up from that sofa before E.J. got two steps away from the door closing. Lucky he didn’t forget his wallet. LOL. Please, making him believe you cared and felt sorry for his loss has been done so many times now between you and Sami that I’m actually beginning to almost believe you myself. What a girl won’t do to keep her baby’s daddy away. Oh I know, I’ll act like I care and then the minute he walks out the door I’ll ransack his apartment looking for what …. oh, I don’t know what or where …. I just know he’s hiding something.
Kate, once again, stole the show for me today. Catching on to Ian about drugging Brady and not budging from it was worth watching. But, Ian, asking Kate to escort her to Lexi’s funeral service while she’s still legally married to Stefano (she tore the papers up didn’t she?) — right, that would have gone over well with Chad and E.J. Glad she stuck to her guns. Newsflash, Ian — Kate’s nowhere near the dummy you seem to think Madison is.
Sorry for ranting, but I was extremely disappointed in today’s show. Guess you could tell, huh?
June 28, 2012 at 5:26 am #33967rfsextonParticipantWell, now I don’t feel so disappointed that I missed today. I was helping with my niece’s children. Normally, my mom and dad take care of them. However, yesterday evening, my mom fell and cut her forehead open. Trip to the ER, a catscan, and fixing the cut….they were not home till past midnight. My niece asked me to come help with the kids today. Sort of kept a watch on mom too. Dad is insisting she use a walker right now. She is not a happy camper.

June 28, 2012 at 12:37 pm #33971mommytutuParticipantI need to get packed for my weekend at the beach so I guess I’ll have more time now. It sounds like an episode not worth my time.
June 28, 2012 at 12:40 pm #33972caseyParticipantand everything I am feeling too. The point about Rafe particularly hit home. I recall the earlier days when he was very charismatic and I so enjoyed watching him. Now, the dialog and character dissolvement has appeared to make his acting susbside as well. He looks like he’s “mailing it in” and perhaps he the actor is as depressed as the character. I mean this has to affect actors, right?
What’s also missing from this show is fun. Everything is gloom and doom.June 28, 2012 at 4:42 pm #33980DPParticipantPatti, well said! The <FF> button on my remote got quite the work-out yesterday.
June 29, 2012 at 10:10 am #34006BonbonParticipantnot worth watching. Other than Lexie’s video, which I thought was very well done, there was nothing interesting at all.
Abe’s tie? Don’t tell me Lexie tied it for him every day before he went to work? (Why was it dark out in the garden? Is this funeral at NIGHT?)
As I mentioned before, NO big deal finding gun shells in EJ’s apartment.
Brady is way OTT with this drug stuff.
Can’t even remember what else was on.
July 1, 2012 at 5:31 am #34050UhSirParticipantThe only thing getting me through the kidnapping scenes is Molly.
My thoughts were exactly the same about Brady. When the lightbulb turned on for him that he was feeling high I figured he would next see the link to that "wonderful" drink. Oh well, maybe next week, which will really only be the intended rest of this week. The show being offset by the preemptions has really messed up the flow of things for me.
