I was thinking that Will sounded just like his mother today when he went off on Lucas. And Lucas, I wanted to smack him for apologizing to Will and telling him he screwed up with him. HELLO WILL…YOUR FATHER WENT TO JAIL FOR YOU! He sounded so, well dumb, when he was fighting with Lucas I wanted to hit the TV.
I don’t know how that played out because the show was interrupted for the news update from Aurora. What a sad, sad thing. My heart and prayers go out to the victims and their families.
July 20, 2012 at 10:15 pm #34431BonbonParticipantturning Will into a character we are no longer going to like. And that’s such a shame after the great job he did with the coming out story.
July 21, 2012 at 2:57 am #34448caseyParticipantfor Will today, though I strongly agree for the most part I don’t like the direction the writers are taking with him. In Will’s eyes Lucas, knowing what a basket case Sami is, chose to remain overseas while his son played the reverse role of being the parent to his mom.
But in any event, I thought Chandler’s acting was quite compelling today.July 21, 2012 at 1:43 pm #34453bluebonnetParticipantfamily that he should end his association with EJ, I don’t agree with the way Lucas went about it. Taking that letter to the cops could make the situation very dangerous for Will. Did Lucas think about what EJ might do to Will for letting the info get out? I would have been upset, too, just as Will was. I think Will brought up the fact that Lucas spent so much time overseas because he (Will) was so upset about the fact that Lucas took the letter.
July 21, 2012 at 2:18 pm #34454PattiParticipantis that he never sees the inherent characteristics between him and his parents. He truly is his parents’ son, yet no one seems to realize this but E.J. Will is a carbon copy of Sami, yet also has many of Lucas’ traits as well. In his earlier years, Will was quiet and reserved and preferred to run away from his parents rather than get his feelings out. Now that he has become a young man, his actions speak otherwise. He is a combination of the two of them and his explosive yet destructive attitude proves just how much he is their son. He, too, is self destructive, yet explosive when he’s backed into a corner or caught in a dangerous situation. It seems the only people he respects are Marlena and Roman. I loved when Roman grabbed him, preventing him from going to E.J. with the fact that the police now have the letter. He actually strong-armed Will, demanding his cell phone so he couldn’t call E.J. and give him a head’s up. Will’s disrespect for Sami and Lucas may be justified for some, but not to me. Every time Will explodes on Sami and/or Lucas, it just testifies to the fact that he is exactly like his parents. They all need family counseling, that’s for sure!
July 21, 2012 at 2:22 pm #34456BonbonParticipantLucas most definitely should have gone to Will before the police. He had to know there was some kind of dynamic going on between Will and EJ and that the letter being leaked could probably be very harmful to Will. Maybe Lucas living with Sami has had some of her thoughtlessness wear off on him.
If Lucas had found the letter anywhere else other than in Will’s possession, it would make total sense to go to Rafe or Roman with it. But, in this case, Lucas did NOT use his brain first, only his impulsive emotions. Typical Sami. Run, Lucas, RUN!
I’m surprised Marlena (normally the voice of reason) didn’t suggest Lucas talk to Will first.
July 21, 2012 at 4:04 pm #34462caseyParticipantthe brightest or most well thought out character. He has tended to be impulsive and hot-headed and at times childish. His was a kneejerk reaction to EJ and getting him away from Will. ITA, he should have thought this through and found out the circumstances surrounding it being in Will’s backpack before acting further.
July 21, 2012 at 4:18 pm #34464BrandyRoseParticipantYou brought out a lot of good points. I agree with you that they all need family counseling. (Desperately, lol!)
