I actually enjoyed Victor’s Rant at Daniel, He was right on in expressing his concern (and sounded like a very worried father) and he had all the facts right. Granted everyone is frantic about Melanie, but Daniel and Nichole are moving at lightning speed. I did not agree with Maggie, but I love her with Victor, they are the main reason I keep watching. I also like Nichole’s look today, very classy.
July 26, 2012 at 10:25 pm #34624PattiParticipantVictor’s one-liners alone could keep me entertained. "Fruit flies have longer relationships than you do Nicole." I laughed out loud at that line today.
July 26, 2012 at 11:09 pm #3462953tdogsParticipantin Victor’s bathwater or am I having another senior moment? I am surprised that Victor did not have Nicole "taken care of" back then.
July 27, 2012 at 4:41 am #34634UhSirParticipantI was laughing and rewinding like crazy through Victor’s scenes. I about fell out of my chair when Daniel and he recalled his past marriages and he gave Daniel that speechless, nodding, wide-eyed look. Then Maggie and Victor spouting off at each other, in just the right way needed to get the other back in line.
Is it too much to hope for more MAGIC scenes like this in the Days to come?
July 27, 2012 at 10:59 am #34637BonbonParticipantor not but, yes, it was something electrical.
I actually felt kind of sorry for Nicole yesterday, standing there taking that abuse from Victor. Yes, everything he said about her was true but I thought I was very cruel of him to say it with her standing there listening. She took it very gracefully and that says something about her "changing." In the past she would have thrown everything right back at him. But I’m glad Maggie stood up to Victor for her.
BTW, Nora said she liked Maggie’s hair like that…I didn’t. I can’t say particularily why but I didn’t think it looked good on her. My God, that lady has so much hair for her age. I used to have a lot of hair like that but since I got older it has really thinned out so much. And I don’t THINK she is wearing a hair piece.
July 27, 2012 at 12:18 pm #34641caseyParticipantfor the first time I was thinking she was looking older. And I just love Vic’s zingers.
July 27, 2012 at 12:48 pm #34642PattiParticipantVictor was briefly married to Nichole, who had saved his life when Kate was trying to have him killed during the coronation. Nicole had an affair with Colin Murphy and Victor wanted a divorce. In February 2004, Nicole got Jan Spears to kill Victor by electrocuting him in his bathtub. Victor survived the attempt on his life and was held prisoner by Andre DiMera with other victims of the Salem Serial Killer. While on Melaswan, Victor kept a low profile and reconnected with his former love, Caroline Brady. Nicole was stunned when Victor returned to Salem and he made it his mission to get revenge.
July 27, 2012 at 2:45 pm #34654luckeyParticipantI posted on the Annex that Victor had every reason to warn Daniel. However, all the yelling and screaming might not have been the way to do it. That is probably one of the reasons Maggie was angry with him. But, having said that, I was glad to hear the facts of Nicole’s past being verbalized in front of all who was there. I do believe, in light of those facts, that Maggie should have been more supportive of Victor.
July 27, 2012 at 2:55 pm #34657justwonderingParticipantI guess I have a different take on this.
First I hate when Maggie plays the helpless cry baby. Of course she is upset, but she has always been pictured as a strong, independent woman who can think on her feet. I don’t like when she plays the victim.
Second, I can understand Victor’s reaction toward Nicole. He was married to her, she did try to have him killed. She alwo bedded Brady and left him twice for EJ. It is not unreasonable for Victor to detest Nicole. As for Daniel, he jumped Nicole very quickly after Jennifer.
Third, Maggie’s comment were more of her feisty nature. however, I didn’t like her hair either.
July 27, 2012 at 8:41 pm #34661luckeyParticipantThey all ganged up on Victor when I felt he had hard facts to back him up on Nicole’s past. I also understand that Daniel is a big boy and can live his life in whatever manner he chooses. That doesn’t mean that Victor won’t at least try to give him as much insight into Nicole’s sordid past.
July 27, 2012 at 8:47 pm #34663cjwestParticipantJohn Anniston is a very competent actor. He knows his character. He is one of the few on the show that can take whatever is written for him and make it sound like it is coming out of his character’s mouth. they have softened him over the years but he is still Victor. He hasn’t lied about Nicole. She has caused a lot of grief for his family members. I think all of the younger characters don’t give Victor the respect he deserves. I like Maggie, but she knew what she was getting into when she married him. If the writers continue to have her get upset every time he gives someone a piece of advice they might as well send her back to her house and bake cookies.
July 28, 2012 at 1:51 am #34676powerpaw2ParticipantI can’t get enough of these two. Whenever Maggie goes back at Vic he gets such a priceless look on his face.
July 28, 2012 at 2:07 pm #34685luckeyParticipantMaggie even talked about the misgivings she had before she married Victor…and she married him anyway. I have no problem with her disagreeing with him; but, Victor has first-hand knowledge of the kind of person Nicole has proven herself to be and I’m glad he had his say. Maggie acted like, just because it’s her son, the facts of Nicole’s past are a moot point and are to be discounted. GO VICTOR!
July 28, 2012 at 2:21 pm #34687BonbonParticipantwhat Victor had to say. He was out of line because it was because he said it with Nicole standing right there AND he really has no right to "forbid" Daniel to see her.
July 28, 2012 at 2:50 pm #34688BrandyRoseParticipantopinion. Here is my humble take on Victor and Nicole, and why I think Victor made a mistake:
VICTOR: Victor is, indeed, a sometimes likeable, sometimes loathesome character. I never liked him, to be honest. In the past couple of years, however, I noticed a softening in Victor’s demeanor. He has been growing on me – – that is, when he is being good.
NICOLE: I believe Nicole has also been progressing in character development. All she wants is the happy home life she never had – -whether consciously or subconsciously. I don’t think she really wants to be alone, thus her tendency to cling onto Dan for dear life.
NOTE: I don’t think Dan and Nicole are going to make it. IMO, they have NO communication aspects nor chemistry between them.
BOTTOM LINE CONCLUSION: Therefore, I firmly believe Victor made a mistake. He should have done the talk with Dan in private. Maybe Nicole deserved it in the past, but not the "today" Nicole (so far).
