I threw my back out, apparently during the night while I was asleep. I took an Ambien CR and side affects can be sleep walking, driving a car, eating and even having sex without knowing it. I live alone, the car hasn’t been out of the garage and no food it gone. It makes me wonder if I did something I don’t remember. Maybe I need a nanny camera. I can’t for the life of me know why I’m in such pain. I can hardly walk to the computer. (Oh,no!!!) <obviously looking for sympathy>
August 8, 2012 at 12:36 pm #34853caseyParticipantexcruiating back pain suddenly and cannot trace it to anything. Usually lasts a day or two and it’s wicked pain. But that’s pretty scary if a form of temporary amnesia is a side effect of any drug.
August 8, 2012 at 2:39 pm #34854NoraParticipantSorry you threw your back out! I forget the name of my sleeping pill I take if I need it. I don’t really like taking them just cause 99% of the time I wake up with a bad headache. I haven’t had any sleep walking, but makes you think that what happened to Hope could actually happen. Hope your back feels better soon!
August 8, 2012 at 3:33 pm #34855BonbonParticipantthat it’s a rare side effect. But I makes me wonder what I might have been up to. :o) Hope is was fun. I wish my dogs could talk.
I’ve had back trouble all my life (three surgeries) but after the final fusion in 1997, I rarely have this happen anymore. Old age, I guess. At least it gives me a good excuse now to lay around all day and read.
August 9, 2012 at 10:50 pm #34868BonbonParticipantI dropped something in the garbage can I had to fish out and all of a sudden when I bent over to get it, I actually felt it break. (Guess I must need some Boniva!!!)
Boy does it hurt. Doc says there’s nothing you can do for it but take it easy. I was already doing that for my back! What next?
August 10, 2012 at 3:28 pm #34879caseyParticipantand on top of back pain. Your bio-rythyms must have been off this week! Seriously, I feel for you and sending positive wishes/prayers you recover quickly.
August 10, 2012 at 5:34 pm #34880BonbonParticipantI’m probably being punished for SOMETHING I did. :o)
I was trying to wash mirrors and shower doors today but couldn’t lift my arm up to the top. Don’t know if you remember but I had a broken rib that the doctor broke while doing my laproscopic surgery just a year ago last August. Why me, why me???
Oh, well, it could be a whole lot worse. In fact, I was getting an empty box out of the garage a couple of minutes ago and I found the biggest cockroach I’ve ever seen. It looked like one of those Madascar hissing cockroaches but I know they’re not around here. I can put up with any kind of creature but not cockroaches. I’ve lived here 12 years and I’ve never seen one before. I just called the exterminator.
August 11, 2012 at 5:14 pm #34890NoraParticipantGeez bonbon! take it easy!!! you sound alot like my mom, you can’t sit still and relax even if you’re in pain! my mom hurt her back too while working on the new bathroom, I had to keep yelling at her to stop it and let your back get better! you mom’s never listen! lol
August 11, 2012 at 10:20 pm #34894BonbonParticipantI remember when my mom lived with us and she was always going, doing, fixing, cleaning. We used to tell her to stop once in a while and take it easy. Now I see myself doing the same things she did. Must be old age! :o)
Seriously, I’m probably much more active now than I was, say, in my 40s and 50s. I remember once asking a friend after she retired what in the heck she did all day. Now, I find myself keeping busy just doing "stuff," I guess like "stuff" I never had time to do when I was working.
August 26, 2012 at 12:06 am #35210kprstrsParticipantWhen I have trouble falling asleep, I take an all natural pill called ‘Midnight’ which is sold OTC in any pharmacy or places like WalMart. If you need, you can chew 2 of them, and you do NOT wake up with a ‘hangover’. They are SO awesome. Every now and again, I will pair it with 1 Valerian Root. If you do that though, make sure you have PLENTY of time to sleep. It knocks me out for 10 or 12 hours!!
August 26, 2012 at 9:06 am #35211BonbonParticipantI’ll have to try that.
August 26, 2012 at 9:52 pm #35214Carol JParticipantYou must learn to rest, that said, who will do it if you don’t….answer, no one.
