Once again I was disappointed.  There were a few things I enjoyed…the octopus and The Spice Girls were great as were their cars.  Also, Eric from Monty Pyton was entertaining.  Other than that, nothing to write home about.

But Rio’s contribution was much more of the kind of entertainment I was expecting.  Oh, God, grant me the opportunity to still be around in four years to see what they can do.  A country that puts on such a great carnivale every year should be good at this.

I think the biggest problem with the London show was the sound.  Most of the single singers you couldn’t even hear and turning up the volumn on the TV didn’t help because then the announcers were too loud.

One more thing, I always get tears in my eyes when the flame goes out.  This time…nothing!  But a hardy congratulations to all the medal winners and all the participants and their coaches.  What a proud moment just to participate in the Olympics.  It demonstrates how our world could REALLY live together.  And no trouble at all…the way it really should be.  Thanks to the British for that.

Those ceremonies seemed to drag on forever. I enjoyed the Imagine sequence as well as the Spice Girls, who were the most energetic and polished and sounded terrific. I think the musical acts suffered more from ghastly vocals than the sound system. The lead vocalist who did “Our House” was awful. Once again for me a mishmash that was overlong and short on entertainment.
And yes, the lowering of the flag and torch out are always stirring.

I’m just glad the whole thing is over.  Two weeks is way too long.

said they were breaking for some half hour comedy and then our local news.  They would be back on at 12:30 AM and The Who would be performing along with more ceremonies.  Was I dreaming or did they really do that?  I fell asleep and never did see the rest of the broadcast.  Of course, I don’t know that I really missed anything because I thought it was just a big rock concert.  Bejing spoiled me.

I was going to record what came on at 12:00 but it was the same thing I saw at 8:30 to 11:00.  I especially wanted to see The Who.  I’m thinking we missed that part on the east coast.  To you guys out in Cally see them?  I don’t know why we didn’t get it but I was very disappointed.  Although, as bad as the sound was, I probably wouldn’t have liked it.

I was waiting to see the Who and it didn’t happen. Very disappointing.

I’m in Michigan (EDT Zone) and every night after the Olympics ended at midnight, we had 1/2 hour of local news, and then NBC repeated the Olympics from 12:30am to 4:30am.  That’s when I recorded it on my DVR and watched it the next day.  I did get to see The Who, who were only on the 12:30am segment.
