I know they wanted a sweet touching moment when Jen sees the items he had on him when the elevator fell, but please writers, don’t put in something so unlikely. That phone probably bounced all over the elevator. They must think the viewers have never had a bad accident with a cell phone.
If the phone was in Jack’s front pocket and he was on his back, his body would have cushioned the fall. What I DON’T buy though is why the phone was on when she took it out of the envelope. I’m not familiar with all phones but don’t most of them go "to sleep" when they’re not in use and only light up when activated? I’d think that picture being on all the time would be a terrible drain on the battery.
