Eileen Davidson (Kristen) mentioned in an interview she did for blogtalkradio.com that "Days" is supposed to be airing a Kristen episode from 1997 to fill the Friday, November 23 time slot. Due to the NHL cancelling its day-after Thanksgiving game, "Days" was forced to insert a repeat episode. This will be the first time in the 47-year history of "Days" that a repeat of a "classic" episode will be airing on NBC. "Days" might also be airing another classic episode this coming January 1, 2013, when another NHL game which was supposed to preempt the show was cancelled due to the on-going lockout. More information will be posted about the exact episode #, cast list, set list and complete scene-by-scene when it becomes available.

November 13, 2012 at 2:49 pm #36390PattiParticipantof showing "classic" epis, delving back into the shows of yesteryear, when DOOL was at it’s best and, oh yeah, the writing was to die for. Kudos to whoever made this possible. There’s nothing today that can compare to the archives of the 80’s and 90’s and even before …. NOTHING!
November 13, 2012 at 3:08 pm #36392BonbonParticipantHow can they show a classic if the show is being pre-empted to show something else?
My question, since when did they start pre-empting Days for football games? I don’t remembering this ever happening. It just used to be Wimbledon in July.
November 13, 2012 at 3:36 pm #36396PattiParticipantof the early years instead of an episode from last month or last year, which they often do. Of course, I’m not talking abuot a national preemption, or even a local one, like a presidential preemption, but usually when they show a preemption for a holiday, they put on a DOOL epi that was taped earlier, usually something they deem worth watching again, but not a "classic" epi from the very early years …..

Not so. They aired the first episode a couple of years ago. It was about Julie shoplifting at a department store.
November 14, 2012 at 9:46 am #36415BonbonParticipantI wonder how I missed that. Why did they show that instead of the regular show? I just don’t remember it at all.
November 14, 2012 at 3:44 pm #36427justwonderingParticipantI cannot remember if it was on an anniversay of the show or after "Alice" died.
It was in black and white and a half hour. Julie was accused to shoplifting a mink from Bartletts department store. When caught she told them she was Julie Horton so they got in touch with Alice and Tom. It was very interesting to watch.
November 15, 2012 at 3:28 am #36447Jason47ParticipantThe 1965 episodes (pilot & 2nd episode) aired on SoapNet.
Next Friday (11/23) is the first-ever repeat episode being aired on NBC, as I mentioned above. The "first-ever" is for a repeat airing on NBC.
Bonbon, the repeat airing was necessitated because "Days" was supposed to be preempted for NHL Hockey on Friday 11/23. But because the NHL is currently in lockout, there is no game to show, so "Days" will be airing a repeat of a Kristen episode from 1997 on that day.
November 15, 2012 at 9:05 am #36451BonbonParticipantI was thinking I had never seen a rerun of a show since I’ve been watching (1979). Later, I ralized that I had seen a rerun on SoapNet not on NBC like you mention. Yes I saw the first episode either there or on YouTube…don’t remember which one.
November 15, 2012 at 2:37 pm #36458justwonderingParticipantThanks, I knew I saw it but didn’t realize it was a Soapnet. I really miss Soapnet wish they kept it onmy cable co (comcast)
