Victoria’s Secret had an angel wearing an indian headress for the up-coming holiday show and people complained about it…that it was offensive? They took her completely out of the show and issued an apology.
Are they kidding me? Can someone please explain to my how an indian headress can possibly be offensive? It’s a costume for cryin’ out loud. What if it had been a sari or a kimono, or burka, or some other ethnic apparel. I just don’t understand it…AT ALL!
And now people want Donald Trump fired from Macy’s and Macy’s boycotted because of his remarks about the election. What is coming of this world that now people’s should be fired because they say something someone else may not agree with. Are we all going crazy or what?
<scratching head in pure wonderment>
November 13, 2012 at 2:36 pm #36386MKParticipantI am so sick of this PC crap! Funny that movies can have lots of nudity, swearing, violence, and that’s all okay. PC crowd says you can choose not to watch it. It’s fine. Music can have swearing, talk of violence against women, etc. and that’s also okay; just don’t listen to it if it offends you. That’s also fine. It’s funny that when something doesn’t fit with the PC crowd’s agenda, it’s then labeled offensive and they demand something be done about it and it’s usually something extreme. Double standards. Drives me nuts.
Bonbon, what did Donald Trump say about the election that certain people think he should be fired from Macy’s?
November 13, 2012 at 3:05 pm #36391PattiParticipantto get the name "Redskins" removed from Washington’s NFL team, all to no avail. And Donald Trump is nothing more than a sore loser. If he were half as gracious a man as Mitt Romney, maybe people would take him more seriously. Instead, he thinks along the same prejudicial guidelines of that other idiot, Rush Limbaugh. I don’t know how that goof keeps his job either.
November 13, 2012 at 3:14 pm #36393BonbonParticipanta travesty or a sham or something like that. It was so insignificant I can’t remember. The guy is a big opinionated out-spoken oaf. He’s just saying what he thinks. (Can we say Whoopie Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnel?) Why can’t people just take it as that and consider the source. But fire him from his job because of it? Supremely ridiculous.
Like that woman being investigated by the FBI because she said, "Maybe he’ll be assasinated." She was not threatening anything. Pretty soon we’ll have to be so careful of what we say, nobody will say anything. (Well, that may be good for the political pundits!)
November 13, 2012 at 3:29 pm #36395justwonderingParticipant"maybe he will be assasinated during his second term" is a threat to the President. Of course it would be investigated. Why would anybody think that that is not something you say?
Like it or not, HE is the President. This nation needs to come together and work towards progress to make our nation great again. It will take compromise and hard work to make the hard decisions necessary to move forward.
The election is over. It is time to heal the wounds.
As for Donald Trump, I have no desire to watch anything he is on, nor buy anything he is associated with.
November 13, 2012 at 4:26 pm #36398MKParticipantPeople said far worse things when G. Bush was re-elected and that was okay. Calling the election a travesty or a sham is not awful. Trump’s always shooting his mouth off about something. But, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. I heard terrible things said about Romney but I guess that’s okay since he’s a big bad Republican.
November 13, 2012 at 5:14 pm #36401BonbonParticipantIt’s the article I was talking about.
November 13, 2012 at 5:34 pm #36404MKParticipantWhat exactly did he say that was so bad that people are going to stop buying Macy’s products? To each his own I guess and I respect that if that’s how someone feels. I also want to be respected in my decision to not recognize a lot of crooked politicians as part of my government. I am still reeling from the election results last week, especially those from my state of Massachusetts. I was extremely depressed and disappointed last week.
