when you fast forward through 45 minutes of a 60 minute show. I mean come on writers get some better story lines and the whole EJ/Sydney/Sami thing is old and tiring and quite frankly I’m sick of watching it. Nathan and Stephanie just disgust me, they are both way too goody goody and it’s sickening, no one is that nicey nice perfect. Get real already!
February 18, 2010 at 10:39 pm #1061553tdogsParticipantYou didn’t (like the rest of us) get to watch any of the show did you? FF’ing through the 45 minutes of the show (like we are all doing) and then there is 20 minutes of commercials in that 60 minutes – All we can look forward to is McDonald Carey and his opening lines "Like sands through the hour glass…" and then hope that tomorrow is better instead of more of the same.

February 19, 2010 at 1:33 am #10629kayParticipantI quir watching 2 months ago and tuned in the past couple of weeks now I’m quitting again. Wonder why???
February 19, 2010 at 5:01 pm #10651PattiParticipantI would ever quit watching; but, the writing is definitely sliding downhill again.
February 20, 2010 at 4:18 am #10665GoodyParticipantNathan and Stephanie as goody goody and sickening, and nicey nice perfect; especially Stephanie. She has a rotten past. Besides, they are sleeping together while lying and hiding big secrets. They are both pretending; Nathan wants Melonie and Stephanie wants whomever she is with at the time.
Goody
February 20, 2010 at 4:03 pm #10684IzzyBParticipantThey sicken me because they do not belong together, because they have no chemistry. Steph is lying because she never gave Nathan the note and she KNOWS Nathan still has feelings for Mel. So she is lying to both herself and Nathan. Nathan is just trying to forget Mel and really doesn’t have true feelings for Steph. So he is lying to himself and Steph when he says he wants to be with her.
February 20, 2010 at 5:13 pm #1068753tdogsParticipantNathan is just being a guy…I don’t think Nathan is "lying" to himself. He is to Stephanie. In reality, what guy is going to turn down a free "slowride" in a hotel room with a willing, breathing, attractive, young woman? Not many. Nathan just gave Steph that standard ol’ classic line saying, "I’m over Mel. I’m into just you baby". Women (audience) will accept that.
After all this is a soap, statistically speaking – the market demographic audience is women 18 to 60+ years of age. Women watch for escapism, to put a bit of romance and intrigue into their long 18 to 20 hour days. This is the same reason men watch football or other sports, to put some oooomph in their male "id" i.e., "ego" during their busy week. Next time, observe the advertised products during a televised football game as opposed to the commerical advertising during a soap opera. Football: beer, fast cars, women in bikini’s, fast food. Soaps: Makeup, hair products, face lifts, etc.
The reason the writer’s portray Nathan’s character as being "confused" about how he feels is because Melanie, "his true love" isn’t available. The writer’s pair him up with an available, willing female, "Stephanie", to make this concept of getting her in a hotel room more palatable for their target audience. (Soft porn). It’s all about the writer’s coming up with a concept so that the advertisers product sell to their core audience.
February 20, 2010 at 5:58 pm #10688PattiParticipanthave a gigantic "L" tattooed on each of their foreheads. If ever there was a losing couple, it’s them.
February 20, 2010 at 9:22 pm #10690IzzyBParticipantNathan is rebounding to Steph and in some ways using her, I agree. But I don’t think he is planning on hurting her. I think he thinks he has feelings for Steph. While he is a guy, I just don’t see him thinking his mind, I am going to use Steph until something better comes along.
So what about woman who watch Soaps and Football? I do
February 20, 2010 at 9:35 pm #10691BonbonParticipant…and lie down on this couch!
February 20, 2010 at 10:52 pm #1069553tdogsParticipantRaider’s fan since 1979. (sigh…)
February 21, 2010 at 5:47 am #10705IzzyBParticipantHas to be tough these days
I am a Steelers Fan since, well I was born I don’t think I had an option growing up in Pittsburgh. But I am really into football. I play fantasy football and everything. Now that I live in Florida, not all the games are on TV, so I got to a local place that has the games. Hate the food, but one of the few places I can get sound and not have to show up an hour before the game starts to get a seat!!!!
February 21, 2010 at 12:51 pm #10709BonbonParticipantWhat part of FL are you in? I’m about 30 minutes NW of Ft. Lauderdale.
I’ve tried very hard to be a Dolphins fan but after living 36 years in the Bay Area, I’m still pretty much a die-hard 49ers fan. I started out, when I first moved there, being for the Raiders but when they moved to LA, that was it. I couldn’t even change my mind when they came back to Oakland.
Maybe we should move this thread to where it belongs. Jenn, can you do that?
February 21, 2010 at 3:11 pm #10714mommytutuParticipantI could not agree more about the nauseating pairing of Stephanie and Nathan-YUCK! This is as bad as Chloe and Lucas, like watching siblings have sex with each other. There is absolutely no chemistry with these two. I have to ff through their scenes too. It just grosses me out.
I too am tired of the EJ/Sami/Rafe kidnapping story. I ff through that too because I know EJ is a phoney. I am looking forward to this story coming to an end. I hope the writers get a clue that the viewers do not enjoy this one bit.
February 21, 2010 at 8:09 pm #1071653tdogsParticipantthe last 16 or so years – once a fan always a fan – we love our teams! I did love this last superbowl though – it was fast moving that’s what was great about it… and I did want the Saints to win!
