and our first major snowstorm about to hit.  Maryland is going to be smack dab in the middle of a huge storm about to start in a few hours here.  Right now I’m in the 5"-10" predicted accumulation; other parts of the state can get up to a foot or more; but, we all know how wrong these predictions can be.  I’m hoping for the lower side, but I’ll see what happens during tonight when the heaviest snowfall is predicted, with high winds included in the forecast.  Then it’s supposed to snow most of the day and night tomorrow until tapering off early Thursday morning.  Darn, I had high hopes for missing the big one this year.

Good luck, Patti.  Are they predicting a heavy wet snow?  That’s what worries me the most in snowstorms combined with high winds.  We’re getting the storm, too, late tonight into Friday.  Accumulations have been all over the place.  Maybe rain along the coast (Boston) mixing with snow and just a little bit away from the coast where I live could be heavy wet snow with accumulations.  Unbelievably, we’ve gotten rid of a lot of snow from the blizzard so I won’t mind this snow too much, especially since it’s March.

Hope you’ve got supplies and food on hand in case of power loss.  Maybe they’ll be wrong and it will be rain!  Keep us updated.

so far looks like Maryland (especially my area) dodged a bullet and the predicted heavier snow will be in Western Maryland.  Right now we have a mix of rain and snow, but roads are wet but clear.  The sad part about this is that they have been forecasting this huge storm all week long, and like most meteorologists cannot correctly predict Maryland’s weather, regardless of their Doppler radar or whatever technology they use, because we are sort of in a valley, with the mountains on one side and the Atlantic on the other, so as sure as they were with this one, so far this storm has not affected us too badly.  We’re supposed to finish up with 2 to three inches now here in the City, but I’ll believe it when I see it.  It’s a shame, because all the schools in Maryland closed, courts, and most city and county government; grocery shelves were emptied and stores packed across the state, and for what?  LOL!  Guess I should be thanking God for small miracles, though.  Waiting to see what happens when the temps drop later this afternoon.

Milk and bread!  Milk and bread!  Always empties first when any storm, big or small, is predicted.
