todays show. How on earth did Vivian plan to smother Melanie with that pillow? Melanie had a nasal cannula giving supplemental oxygen. Explain please.

I thought the same thing. Mel was getting O2 through that tube……………she wouldn’t have smothered by that pillow being placed over her face.
real world! This is Days and we viewers are supposed to be too dumb (?) to know those things? I was thinking that Days really should have a group of volunteer (since we know they can’t afford to pay for the expertise) fans to review story info before they put it out there! I’d volunteer for the reading educational position! Anyone for each nursing specialty? Legal specialists? Business professionals?
specialists…common sense would be more like it…and instead of flying all of us common sense people to Hollywood, why not just read some of our comments here on the board? I think the people on this board know their show better than any of the writer’s – goodness knows, the SL conceptions that many have come up with here on Salem Place outshine the writer’s story lines by a million percent!
Actually she’d be getting oxygen but she pillow wouldn’t let her exhale and it would trap the CO2 so she’d be rebreathing that and could be in trouble. It’s not always the lack of oxygen that causes the problems.
That one got past me. But she didn’t struggle very much. A person, when deprived of air, has their will to live kick in (along with the adrenaline) and you become almost super-human in your struggles to breathe. Even if you’re in a weakened condition, you’d still struggle more than Mel did.

She wasn’t in a coma, so it’s reasonable to me to believe that she may have been given something to keep her from getting upset after her talks with Carly. So it would not be unrealistic for me to believe that she was in a weakened state. She even sounded drugged to me.
