I don’t find him that attractive at all. His smile is ruined by his teeth. They only thing I can say about him is they must have gotten him cheap. He kind of reminds me of Franco (not looks but circumstances), wasn’t he a model without any acting experience also? I wonder how long he’s going to last.
And I don’t think he’s telling the truth about being expelled. He’s acting way to smug to me. And what in the heck is his problem with Daniel? Could he be any more obvious? Why haven’t they explained why he was sneaking around the house at first? If it was just for the drama, that really fell flat. So far I’m very disappointed with this character.
May 10, 2013 at 10:43 am #39604KseeParticipantHe looks a bit like Frankie to me? I’m just saying!
May 10, 2013 at 12:26 pm #39608PattiParticipantof a young James Franco as well. I also think he’s not a bad actor, especially since he has no acting experience. He was an underwear model, for goodness sake, but then so was Mark Wahlberg and look how he turned out. I do see problems heading Daniel and Jennifer’s way, though.
May 10, 2013 at 1:08 pm #39610caseyParticipantJJ is not telling the truth, or at least the entire truth about being expelled. Otherwise would this be Days?! It’s a bit early for me to comment on whether or not I like him, but if this is another wellworn path of bratty teens hating anyone dating their parent and acting out then I’m not looking forward to it.
May 10, 2013 at 2:07 pm #39615PattiParticipantsince Jennifer confronted him yesterday, phone in hand, when she had just received a call from his headmaster. Maybe it wasn’t his fault that he got caught, but I don’t think he’s as innocent as he would have Jennifer believe. The vibe he gave off on his meeting Daniel yesterday had trouble written all over it, and this is what I’m afraid of for JJ’s storyline — more Dannifer angst, and quite frankly I’m fed up with it. No doubt, somewhere down the road Daniel will probably save him from some horrible medical emergency, and all will be right with the world again. Just don’t take too long, writers, or this young man will be out with the fans before he even gets both feet in the door.
May 10, 2013 at 2:42 pm #39617justwonderingParticipantI can understand that JJ would resent Daniel being in his mom’s life. After all, Jack hasn’t been dead a year, so it seems fast to move on (at least to him). I am not sure what she told him, but maybe he had heard some stoies about dear old Dan.
then again, maybe he is just a spoiled, bratty boarding school kid who doesn’t want to share his momma with anyone!!
I am sure that there is more to the school story. Will wait to see how this plays out!! Reight now he seems like a typical teen reacting to his mom’s moving on so soon.
May 10, 2013 at 6:15 pm #39622dvalParticipantHow old is he supposed to be anyway? Late teens? I think he’s doing a good job of playing the snarky kid so far, which is after all exactly what he is supposed to be, right? I liked his encounter with Daniel, the way he stood in the door, almost seeming to dare him to come in without saying anything specifically. Then his smooth transition to "Oh Mom I didn’t want you to have anything else to worry about" devoted son routine. So far, I’m liking him. but like Patti said…if his main job is going to be to put another wedge between Daniel and Jennifer, well then ship him off to another boarding school and be done with it. Don’t waste his time and ours with the same old same old we’ve been going through the last 7 or 8 months.
May 12, 2013 at 12:19 am #39644bradysgmaParticipantJJ is played by a 19 year old who is playing a 15 year old.
May 17, 2013 at 12:36 pm #39712caseyParticipanthe’s being portrayed as the predictable Days bratty teen.
May 17, 2013 at 1:13 pm #39713PattiParticipantbut he was first promoted to be 15. I remember reading the promo for him. This actor might be able to pass for 17, but I don’t think he would have been convincing as a 15 year old.
May 17, 2013 at 2:57 pm #39718justwonderingParticipantWell, in some ways, he is acting exactly how a teen would act. He was sent to boarding school at an early age and never seemed to have much interaction with the family. So he basically grew up in boarding school. Next his on-again off-again dad dies. Instead of having a memorial in Salem, they go to England. Again, no interaction with family.
Then he comes home to discover that his mother has moved on (it has been less than a year). The room that was supposed to be for him has been turned into a playroom for Parker, who Jen seems more attached to than JJ.
However, doesn’t this background sound alot like Melanie’s life??
So nothing is new!!
May 18, 2013 at 3:58 pm #39736maryanneParticipantSurely that big house that the Hortons raised all their kids in has more than 3 bedrooms! Why would JJ have to use the room set up for Parker?
