     tell me why there were only 6 jurors on the trayvon Martin jury instead of 12? I akways thought it wss 12 people on a jury. Just curious. Thanks.

    in 1970 a FL. law was passed saying a jury of six was permitted to try a criminal case. If it’s a capitol case I think there has to be 12.

    Ok. Thanks. I was just a little confused, LOL. and I’m sure it was explained before the trial started but I missed it.

    that isn’t just Florida. It came about because of the difficulty of getting enough jury members to serve. Apparently for this case they needed to have a pool of at least 300 people to pull from. In order to actually get 300 people to respond, they had to call 600. Sounds to me like something is definitely wrong with our legal system that people can so blatantly (and apparently without penalty) ignore a jury summons.

    I would be happy to serve on one and in my 73 years have only been called once but wasn’t even selected to be questioned. I don’t know why people are always so anxious to get out of it.

    about possibly being arrested if you lie about or ignore a jury summons that would be cleared up pronto. I know so many people who simply mail back the summons unopened as if the addressee dosn’t live there anymore and that’s how they slip out of serving.
