My 30th Anniversary of Watching Days!

This week is the 30th anniversary of when I first started watching Days back in 1983. It’s hard to believe I’ve stuck with a show for so many years. There have been a lot of great stories (and a lot of ridiculous ones). When I started watching, Bo and Hope were pretty new on the show. Hope actually had a crush on Roman at the time but she was constantly being “annoyed” by Bo. Even at the tender age of 13 I could tell that was going to turn into a great romance eventually. I had such a huge crush on Bo. He was so sexy with his long hair and his leather jacket and his motorcycle. Oh, be still my teen-age heart! Hope and Melissa were the “troublesome teens” on the show but at least they were interesting and were characters you wanted to root for, not like the annoying teens we’ve been burdened with recently.

Other storylines at the time were Liz Chandler being in jail for shooting Marie Horton and she had amnesia and didn’t remember she was married to Neil Curtis. She thought she was still married to Don Craig. I also remember Stefano coming back from the dead for the very first time shortly after I started watching. What an intriguing storyline because it was all fresh and new and not done over and over so many times like now. Other characters I remember from that time were Eugene, Trista, Colliope, Alex, Renee, Roman, Marlena, Tony, Anna, Chris (remember Shennanigan’s?) Oh, what great memories. I wish we could watch reruns of all those old episodes!
