So I’m watching Alison’s movie on Hallmark tonight with Greg. Thought it would be a bit weird to see an on screen bro/sis play romantic love interests – well, it’s not!!!
Seriously – Ali has on screen chemistry with just about everyone she plays opposite. I dunno if it’s her or is she just that talented?!? But it’s pretty remarkable.
Funny how when you watch her facial expressions… you see a little bit of Sami in her. OR do we just see Ali in Sami?!? I think she’s been playing that role so long they are interchangeable.
Cute movie so far!!!
July 28, 2013 at 2:35 am #40604BonbonParticipantI know what you mean by seeing a little bit of Sami showing. It’s better than I expected it to be. More to follow.
July 28, 2013 at 3:03 am #40605TFlo1018ParticipantAre you done Bon?!? LOL…
It was so cute – not nearly as cheesy as I thought it would be (and the kids were great too.) Wonder how weird it would have been to shoot this AFTER they became on screen siblings… They shot this before Greg joined DOOL.
But yea – you totally see Sami in Ali when she plays another role. But as I said, it’s probably Ali that creeps into Sami (and her other roles.) I read somewhere that Joan Collins became Alexis and Alexis became Joan. I guess when you are a strong personality and so is your role you just become ONE.
I’m so thankful I waited hours on line to meet Ali a few years back. Well worth it – and I got 2 autographs to prove it.
July 28, 2013 at 9:08 am #40606BonbonParticipantto your assessment. Pretty much my opinion also.
I could also see some Eric in Greg’s performance so I guess that’s just a natural thing. Did you think he was kind of cute with the shorter hair and scruffy face hair? But I think his portrayal of Eric is much more powerful and deeper than as Jeff. That was kind of weak, I thought, but maybe just because Eric is a meatier roll.
July 28, 2013 at 12:13 pm #40607ladyofherbsParticipantI felt awkward watching the 2 of them together in a romantic role.
July 28, 2013 at 12:43 pm #40609TFlo1018ParticipantI ADORE him as Eric – but the man inside of me wants him to be shirtless and have steamy sex scenes. Mainly b/c he is so friggin sexy!!!
Eric is a GREAT role and he plays it so well. His role as Jeff was very soap typical. Sexy firefighter with a heart of gold. Blah Blah Blah LOL….
But yes – he looks super cute with short hair. I agree.
July 28, 2013 at 2:26 pm #40610PattiParticipantI thought it was well written and I loved Ali’s and Greg’s performances, and those kids were adorable. I wish they would give her more scenes with her DOOL kids; she looks like a terrific mom and I imagine that’s just the way she is with her own kids. I thought both Ali and Greg shined through these characters as much as they do on DOOL, and yes, their chemistry was off the charts. Kudos to both of them.
July 28, 2013 at 9:18 pm #40614shadowParticipantEric is a priest and does not intend to be shirtless and have steamy sex scenes. That is not his purpose. That’s disgusting to say that he should be with another man!
July 28, 2013 at 9:39 pm #40615TFlo1018ParticipantThe gay man inside of me wants him to be SHIRTLESS and have steamy sex scenes (with whomever) but NOT as a priest…. But I love how he portrays Eric so I’m okay with him being a priest.
Sheesh – talk about mis-reading a post.
July 30, 2013 at 4:32 am #40618justwonderingParticipantI just finished watching the movie. It was really great and both of them shined. It was so nice to see a story built around romance and not bed hopping. I thought it was strange that they were both in it. Then i read the post saying it was shot before Greg worked on days. It just goes to show you what a great actors they bvoth are.
Well done!!
July 30, 2013 at 5:29 am #40620BonbonParticipantin plain ordinary clothes without a lot of make-up? And she still looked great.
July 30, 2013 at 10:17 am #40623TFlo1018ParticipantBut i’ve always given her credit too when she has to do tough scenes on DOOL. She had no make up on in the jail scene for instance… Unlike Chloe who… well, we all know LOL LOL LOL
July 30, 2013 at 11:20 am #40625BonbonParticipantin that respect and I applaud her for it. But, let’s give Chloe credit because she did that one time appear w/o make-up.
Actually, I don’t understand why Sami isn’t wearing any make-up in jail. It’s not like they don’t allow it. And why was Kristin putting clothes together for EJ to take to her when she is wearing jail garb? I thought maybe it was to wear to her jail hearing but, nope, she was still in her attractive denim and chambrays.
July 30, 2013 at 1:55 pm #40627PattiParticipantif someone was in jail looking like a million bucks. She was, I would imagine, upset, maybe crying, maybe needed to wash her face, whatever reason, and there are many, a person in jail should not look like a movie star. The hair and make-up they did on Lauren Koslow when she was doing the cancer story was the most ridiculous thing I ever saw for someone who was supposed to be gravely ill. She looked and reminded me of Alexis Carrington from Dallas — ‘I’d rather be dead than look bad in my bed.’ LOL!
July 31, 2013 at 12:17 am #40631TFlo1018ParticipantAlexis Morrell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan a.k.a. the AMAZING Joan Collins was from Dynasty LOL
