and to my complete ever-lovin’ surprise, it’s HARRY CONNICK, JR.! YAYYYYYYY ….. I’m so happy to know that Harry will be joining Ja-Lo and Keith this season. Also, Randy will return as mentor this season, replacing Jimmy Iovine. Maybe AI was starting to take the hint that their show is taking a backseat to The Voice, who have re-hired Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green this season. In any case, I thought Harry Connick, Jr., did a fabulous job with his critiquing of the contestants during the finals, and I’m so glad to hear he has the time to do AI this year. Looking forward to a better season than last — if only because of the judges alone.
Keith Urban is here in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor tonight for a concert setting up the Ravens/Broncos kickoff for the 2013-14 NFL season. I had a hard time trying to decide whether to go with friends to watch the concert, or to my son’s house for our 2013 Ravens Super Bowl champs’ kick-off party. Tough choice, but since the Ravens have to open in Denver because of a conflict with the Orioles home schedule (which sucks), we have to open in Denver. Oh, well, may the best team win, but can’t help hoping it will be our Ravens!

And, I was really pleased with Keith U last year, so I’m glad he is back for another year. I’m super excited about these two judges, but not so much Jennifer L. I wasn’t happy with her the first time around. I’m also anxious to see how Randy does in his new role. He needed a change I think.

My Broncos !!! hope its a good game, one of our Favorite defensive player has joined your team, I cried when he left . Good luck but sure they do not need my wish of good luck.. smile.

We’ll see, and good luck to you as well, but mainly I’m looking forward to what I’m hoping will be a fantastic opening game! After the downward spiral our Orioles seem to be in right now, I’m starved for my NFL action.

Jennifer is so-so as a judge, but I truly enjoy Keith and I believe most viewers did also and I knew he wanted to return. I absolutely love HC on the panel! He isn’t shy to give a negative opinion and has a wit to go along with it. Not to mention he knows the biz.
Back to J-Lo, I have to wonder if she agreed because her music/film career isn’t exactly going great guns. Or is it? I haven’t heard any buzz in this area. Maybe I’m dead wrong here.September 5, 2013 at 8:50 pm #40988PattiParticipantMetro News — Thursday, 5 Sep 2013 – 3:55 p.m.

It would seem that Jennifer Lopez’s return to the American Idol judging panel may be down to one simple fact – she missed it.The I’m Real singer, 44, left the show last year to promote her latest album but regretted leaving her judge’s chair behind.
‘Last year I went off and toured the whole world for the first time. It wasn’t the easiest thing to fit in this season of Idol, but I do love it so much… I did miss it,’ she told People.
Busy: J Lo couldn’t do last years’ season due to being on tour. ‘It makes me feel good that there’s good feelings about American Idol because the show’s a great show and the focus is back where it’s supposed to be – on the show and contestants, and tuning in for some great entertainment,’ she went on.
Reports have suggested Lopez may have landed over £11.2 million ($17.5 million) to return to the panel after her one-year absence.
She joins musician and actor Harry Connick Jr, country star Keith Urban and producer Randy Jackson on the long running talent show with this ‘dream team’ carrying the hopes of the show’s producers, who have watched ratings dwindle since Simon Cowell quit in 2010 to front X Factor USA.
