I just love the way she handled Kate today. Whether Kate is paying for Rafe’s care or not, Kate is not the patient — Rafe is, and Jordan was, as was Kayla, within her right to refuse to give Kate any information on his care or his progress. I loved seeing Kate being talked down to. It’s about time. Even Rafe is becoming annoyed with her obsessive behavior where HIS hospital stay is concerned. My God, the man is not your son, Kate. Back off. In the meantime, Jordan’s no-nonsense attitude where her patient is concerned still continues to impress me. I like her a lot.
Kate didn’t tell Jordan that she DID hire her. Because if she did and she’s footing the bill, she has every right to know what’s going on in Raff’s case. Patient confidentiality does not apply in that case because, legally, she is the one who has engaged the services so she would be the one to receive the report.
So why doesn’t she want Jordon to know?
Kate hired her, technically the hospital has hired her and Kate brought her to Salem. If Kate had hired her, I don’t think Rafe would be in the hospital, he’d be in a private setting with the PT.
either way, the patient is not a minor and I disagree about Kate’s rights. And yes, the administrator (Seth) approved the Hospital’s hiring the therapist on Kayla’s recommendation, not Kate’s. So for Kate to be so demanding with Jordan just made her look more ridiculous than she already is acting with Rafe.
Actually, Rafe shouldn’t be in the hospital. he should be in a private rehab center that specailizes in physical therapy. I guess that kate is also paying his hospital bill, cause Rafe’s insurance wouldn’t.
he’s still on the force, isn’t he? Kate’s paying his bill because she wants to, not because she has to, although her real desire is to convince him that he will always be in her debt. Watch how quick she’ll cut off paying for him once he falls for Jordan.
His insurance wouldn’t pay for him to stay in the hospital because it is not medically necessary. He would have to go to a rehab center or a nursing facility where they specialize in physical therapy. Nowadays, insurance reviews the hospital stay and determines what they will pay for. His insurance would pay for a rehab center.
I really don’t know if he knows that Kate is paying the bill. I think she feels responsible cause this wouldn’t have happened if Rafe and Kate weren’t together.
he was in a t-shirt was why he wasn’t in rehab. They make you get dressed every day. I had to go to a rehab hospital after my back surgery so I’m very acquainted with that and you’re absolutely right, the insurance company would not allow him to stay in the hospital.
That’s why these outpatient surgical centers have become so popular. Because you can’t stay overnight anymore for many things. My insurance is refusing to pay right now because I didn’t have out-patient surgery when they removed the stones from my bile duct two years ago. And I’m really worried about that because if they don’t pay, the hospital is going to want ME to pay it. Even thought it was my doctor’s decision to keep me overnight. And here’s the really stupid part, they won’t pay any of it, even the out-patient amount because the hospital filed the claim under the in-patient number. ???
Sorry Bonbon, what a pain! I had a similar filing issue for a dentist appt. our insurance changed to a different carrier which meant I had to switch dentists. They needed a full set of x-rays. Apparently I was a couple of months ahead of the 3 yr. mark and all insurance would pay for was bite wings, but the dentist had filed all x-rays under one number and the bite wing portion couldn’t be separated. Guess who was responsible for the bill?
a government agency, so I can’t imagine them not paying for it. Also, he can’t be moved right now, at least according to Kayla, and the Salem University Hospital has it’s own rehab center, but obviously he has some sort of nerve damage if he can’t be moved, so I don’t see why it’s so strange to see him still in his hospital room doing the beginning of what appears to me to be rehabilitative exercises with Jordan. JMO. That, plus the fact that most people on message boards tend to compare what happens in real life to what happens on a soap opera, so I guess I give up trying to make sense of anything so long as I’m entertained.
