ParticipantI was very impressed with Sioban’s (sp) performance. Crystal was good as usual, but since the Stones should have been right up her wheelhouse, I expected more rock power.
I’d vote off Urban. He’s teenbopperish cute, but IMO nothing unique and too much of a lightweight to win this thing.March 17, 2010 at 2:22 pm #11308Patti
Participanthe destroyed that song. Overall, the rest of the kids did quite well with the Stones. I was pleasantly surprised.

Participantdoing a Stones song. It was so-so for me. I think it’s between Tim Urban and Lacey Brown who will be going home. I wasn’t impressed with either performance. I also liked Crystal’s response to Simon when he kept trying to make it look like she thinks she’s got it wrapped up. I don’t see that attitude from her at all. It’s Simon who keeps pushing that and her response was great when she said, "I don’t think that at all. But, thank you for saying it." You could see the reaction on Simon’s face that she read his agenda and wasn’t going to have any part of it. Simon and Kara very often act like they know what the performer is thinking and it makes my heart happy when the performer lets them know that they’ve got it all wrong.

ParticipantBut I felt that Lacey at least was a bit more unique than Tim. However, I don’t feel Tim will last long either.

Participantrather than Lacey, but I’m afraid he won’t be far behind. I agree about Crystal and her choice of words in rebutting Simon’s attempt at ‘putting words in her mouth.’ As a matter of fact, I think she very correctly, yet politely, shut him the hell up for a change. Kudos to you, Crystal. You are a breath of fresh air. Some of the contestants who get a bad critique from Simon mistakenly attempt to defend the criticism by going toe-to-toe with him in a sarcastic way, and only wind up looking foolish. Crystal, however, appeared genuine, respectful, humble, and clearly put Simon in his place without even trying. She’s a class act already, IMHO.
