I have noticed a couple of times hearing a distinct Boston accent from Chad.  So I looked him up to see where he is from and he’s from rinkey dinkey Hollister, CA.  Where in the heck did he get that accent?  Has anybody else heard it?

I am from Boston and I do not hear a Boston accent at all from Chad. It is funny, that in my office, I am the only one with a Boston accent as most everybody else is from some other part of the country or world.

He sounds more like a New Yorker to me.

“take care of my sistah” that was about as Boston as you can get. I don’t hear it all the time, just every once in a while but when I do, it’s very strong.

and worked on his voice to make it sound more like an easterner? Far fetched but that’s all I can think of, unless one or both of his parents are New Englanders or he spent a good deal of time in New England growing up.
BTW, when I took a linguistic class in college I found out it’s called a “dialect” within a country. An accent is used when referring to outside the country, ala a “French accent.”
Okay, that’s my lesson for the day, class!
